Unless you are doing the road to the show. Then you get to play 5-10 min and still wait for loading in between everything else. I don't see why the loading bothers so many about Destiny. I do things my own way and only ever go to new planets or the tower once per session. I go to the tower before I sign out usually. Unless I'm constantly picking up engrams but that's rare for me.
Forgot about that mode, that would suck, yeah. Maybe going with the 1,000 unique crowd models was a bit excessive.
The loading bothers me because it's so long and frequent, either-or wouldn't bother me as much. I hate to keep using
WoW as the comparison choice, but it's the only thing I can really use. You could spend hours upon hours on a
WoW continent without a single loading screen, and even the cross-continent loading screens aren't consistently 40 seconds (though that's on a 7200-RPM WD Black drive, not the junk drives in the consoles).
Defiance was a similar story, with almost no loading screens to speak of. Unless you were doing a group dungeon, PVP, or fast-traveling somewhere, that world (though not exactly huge) was without loading screens on the last-gen consoles. You'd hope that this generation would be a loading improvement, and that doesn't seem to be the case (at least, not consistently).
I go through loading screens every 45-60 mins in destiny as well. I plan out what I am doing so I dont hit loading screens all the time, anyone who spends 20 mins and hits another loading screen either isn't planning out what they are doing at all, or they needlessly go to the tower after every other engram drop.
You're assuming that everyone has the same interests in game completion. You might be doing side quests others don't care for, or doing extra loot hunting others already finished.
