Det 29.42 TOTALLY KICK ASS at Ansiotropic!!!

I have upgraded from the 28.32 to the newest 29.42 drivers. And its Ansiotropic Filter performance TOTALLY BLOWS ME OFF THE CHAIR!!!.

Nvidia use to do very poorly (performance-wise) with Ansio Enabled. Now they are no longer!!!!

This is the 'benchmark' I have used.

1280x1024x32 PIC_MIP3 (tweaked display setting) 2x ANSIOTROPIC

28.32 2x ANSIO - 76.5fps
29.42 2x ANSIO - 108.5fps

Image quality the same? Are they still applying the filtering to all surfaces?

I havent done screenshots between them to see if the image quality is any different between the 2 drivers. But I can tell you that, after 2 hours of gaming on the newer drivers, they are pretty much the same in terms of image quality, just more frames per seconds!!

Just installed it, did a quick 3Dmark 2001 test and my scores shot up 400 points!

Just a thought, BUT it would be helpful if you state what Geforce card you are using. Geforce2/3/4 makes a big difference don't you think.

can you use custom resolutions? or did they finally decide to get out of the dark ages and have 1400x1050 in there by default?

(theres really too much space between 1280x960 and 1600x1200)

These are my favorite drivers so far. I got a 300 point increase in 3D Mark 2001 and 8x anisotropic filtering + Quincunx AA is finally playable. JK2 and SOF II look fantastic at 1024*768 with these settings and get good FPS too!

BTW, I have a PNY Ti 4200 @ 300/600.

Sorry that I didnt state what GF I am using.


Its a GF4Ti4400 on AthlonXP 1700@1600/160 unlocked Epox 8KHA+ WinXP

I use the RivaTuner(newest version) refresh rate fix on these dets and they work.

Here you go man... A refresh rate fix that fixes the refresh rate issue with 2000/XP with ALL detonator driver versions.

I gave these drivers a quick try under Win 9x. Played a couple of JKII maps (anisi is on). Didn't notice any difference.

On the plus side, for some reason my overclocking and digital vibrance settings remained intact! I like that part at least.

I like it, it's easy and it should work with all upcoming drivers.

Coolbits seems to work, vsync can be disabled via control panel. I havent' done any benchmarking with Geforce3 other that 3dmark, which didn't improve for me.
