Detect +12V voltage on Antec PSU

My bios is showing it as 12.429 but speedfan shows 3.01 (which is way off). Is there a program that will show me the correct +12v voltage for vista64?

Gigabyte's EasyTune6 shows it ranging between 12.42 and 12.49. eVGA says this is way too high, should I RMA my PSU?

BTW 12.49 is still within specification. 11.4-12.6 is within specification

Do you have a link to the specification for the +12 line that I can send to eVGA? (They are the ones who said it was out of spec).

ATX requires the +12 V voltage be within 5% of nominal (which would be 11.4 - 12.6 V). Page 22 of the ATX v2.2 specification (400 KB PDF).

As already stated, you should completely ignore software-based voltage measurements.

The bios and Gigabyte's easytuner's numbers match. Speedfan is showing 3.01v

I had a similar question about my 12v rail numbers. All the monitors I've used (OCCT, HW Monitor) show my +12v at about 0.83v at idle and around 3.0 +/- 0.1v under load. Used to show 11.9x when this PSU was in a socket 939 system. (PCP&C 750w quad now with a Gig UD3P) Do I need to change something so that it reports correctly?

It is sounding like no software reporting tool is going to be accurate. What does your bios info screen say?

Yeah, my BIOS shows the 12v at 11.985v, so it's definitely a reporting issue. Just too bad the only place I can see the correct voltage is outside the O/S.

Speedfan is only autoconfig for a certain list of mobo chip-sets any others have to be manually configured. Generally the health monitor software that (should) comes with the mobo (and of course its BIOS) should actually be reading the 12V port address while speedfan is obviously reading the 3.3V port address. But as Zap pointed out, if you want accurate voltage readings, you'll need to locate your test points and use a meter.
. Used to be that the 12V rail was only expected to have a +/- 10% precision as very few things in a system run directly on +12V (drive motors/fans/etc.) while everything else has local downward re-regulation and filtration. I guess maybe they have tightened the spec to +/- 5% as it is easier to achieve that now.

Even the bios can be wrong in my experience. Bios has reported my voltages lower than they really are.

They can be off, but at least the +12 will be read and not a +3.3 address. I wouldn't run w/o a meter because I do appreciate accuracy...
