Yah, they are MUCH slower. In both Q3 and 3DMark2000 by A LOT.

I think my 3dmark2000 score went up a hundred points or so. I used to get 4500 with a p3-866 256meg pc133 cas3, geforce 2 32meg in win2k. Installing directx 8 rc-1 moved it up to 58xx and now I get 5995 or something like that. About to test the opengl performance with a little cstrike. Hopefully it improves that.

I have no hard figures or DX8 targetted app to play with, but under WinME, DX8 RC1 and these 7.17 dets I notice perhaps a slight increase in FPS in Deus Ex(D3D) with no additional visual artifacts and such vs the 6.47 dets. The control panels all appear to be the same as the 6.x series. Video card I'm using for comparision is a GeForce DDR 32MB.

OK under win2k, i can't run counterstrike. I am seriously p!ssed off now. These things suck. I think nvidia intentionally leaks these just to show us who the boss is. OK nvidia i'm done playing, give me some really phucking drivers.

I went from 3dMark 5068 with the 6.31s, to 5262 with the 7.17s. P3-800, Geforce DDR, 128megs RAM. All seems OK with these new drivers.

If you look in the ini file the NV20 is listed among the others...Don't know if it were that on the others, but here it is anyway . For some reason the 7.17 driver removed one of the resolutions . And it's the one I always use .

hmm, now why was it i didnt go to a geforce based vid card yet? hmm hmm hm, oh yeah cause I'm too cheap, the only reason i have a voodoo3 2k is cause some one gave it to me. but that may change, not that i see you can get rid of lame resolutions

No 1152x864 desktop resolution with 7.xx in Win2k. Maybe that's what AngelOfDeath was talking about.

Those drivers are gone from my system now! I was clicking around under GeForce settings under the Advanced tab in Display Properties and I got a blue screen and it rebooted me. That NEVER happens to me in Win2k:|:|

Weird stuff happening. I have DirectX 8 RC1 and installed these new 7.17 drivers. 3DMark2000 is about 100-200 points slower (I still have to find out where my other 500 points went after last weekend... maybe my new TV card). All 3D effects in 3DMark2000 are fine, but when running Crytek's X_Isle demo (with the dinosaurs), the colors are off - too dark or blackish where it should be greenish - there are blocks around all 3D objects (trees, etc.) until you move closer to them. I'll fool around with the drivers a bit more to see if I can get the demo to run without any visual problems, otherwise I'm removing these drivers
