Hi there,

Those of us at Dynamite Data just wanted to post and apologize for a brief outage we had this weekend that choked off the redirector. We'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again, we know it's pretty much the most annoying thing that can happen when you're browsing.

I noticed a couple of you said you're having the problem all the time though, are you running any greasemonkey scripts that may conflict? Any info you can give us would be helpful -- we're a small team and are always trying to make our product better. Thanks!

On my work PC, I run 1 greasemonkey script. But the redirect is working. I run more scripts at home, I'll check there later.

Working at home too with 9 different scripts.

They don't work for me as well on multiple browsers. If they do work, it takes a long time for the link to load, 30+ seconds. Does not matter if I use any blocking software.

No, you must use their redirects and all URL shorteners to bypass this worthless crap must also be banned so that everyone MUST go through the redirects to generate money for the site.

I definitely hate that dyno server. No matter how many times people complain they still keep it going since they probably can't stand not getting their cut if someone clicks a link from their forums.

They say they are banning url redirects to protect the users, who obviously started using them alot more lately because of this dyno server, and NOT for spam like they claim. They are removing a useful feature that no real complaints have been made about, yet they are keeping a feature that most of their users hate and majorly complain about.

So who are they running the forums for? If they need money that bad I would be glad to pay a monthly fee for them to kill that, that, feature...

Or at least allow url shorters which helps their subjects much more than it hurts them. Allow the poster to decide which way they would rather post their links...

Detonator.dynamite is terrible.

I understand the forums wanting to make a couple of pennies off of each click for products, but at least use a program that actually works right!

Lately, it's taking anywhere from several seconds to a couple of minutes to connect to the site linked.

I pretty much can not even use the Anandtech main page at all anymore . Every SINGLE time I see "Waiting for Dynamite.Data" show up at the bottom left of my browser, my entire Firefox session and any open tabs hang indefinitely.

Just now to my surprise, I was able to open the first page of a Silverstone Case review without Dynamitedata blowing up my browser but sure enough upon clicking through to page 2, BOOM! Once again that "waiting for detonator.dynamitedata" appeared at the bottom and once AGAIN, my browsing session was screwed. I have to kill Firefox from the task manager, restart Firefox, it attempts to restore the previous session, DynamiteData blows my sh*t up again and rinse repeat several more times.

I really can't take it anymore Anandtech, it's just not worth it to me. Anandtech has been a daily stop for me for going on 7 years now but after 2 weeks of trying in vain to simply read an article in the archives, I give up.

Forums and Dailytech are working fine luckily, but I'm done with the main page, I'll get my tech fix somewhere else. Its sad, but over the last 2 weeks, the thought of opening an Anandtech.com window actually makes me cringe...
