I'm replaying it now... still an awesome game that draws you in with the storyline much more so than any recent game I can think of.

i like games for windows. i jumped on that AOE3 deal few weeks ago. once it installed. i've never had to sign in or open the program again.

I remember when steam came out. hated it then and still don't like it but i have to use it cause my friends all have games on it and i went along and bought them to play with them.

For me, a free game wouldn't be worth it if it required GFWL. I've recently balked at a couple of the sub $3 games when I found out that they had GFWL. My experiance with it was pretty abysmal, and it offers me absolutely nothing positive.

I got AOE 3 for the ten cent deal and GFWL worked flawlessly for me. The software was simple to install and the download was painless. I just don't see what all the griping is about.

Man... this game caused me to lose a lot of sleep. An awesome game back in the day. It would be nice if they gave this the "HD" treatment like they've done with old games on some of the consoles. GoW1&2 looked really pretty good when they upped it to 720p.

If you've never played this game, get it and ignore that the graphics will be a little dated. It's a very good game

There is a 1600x1200 patch for it... and it will run perfectly on a system that has decent onboard graphics like AMD 42xx series. So it is the perfect game to put on a laptop or system that can't play any newer games. The game is still a lot of fun.
