The official forum and Steam forum has users posting about bugs that were in the original HR release but fixed in patches, now cropping up again in the DC. It appears that the PC version of the Directors Cut was simply ported from the WiiU version, which means it doesn't have the PC specific fixes that Nixxes implemented, it only has the fixes that EM did for the 360 version. Other users have screens showing downgraded SSAO quality and in general, less detailed lighting, which again could be attributed to being ported from the WiiU. To top it all off, various textures are missing entirely, scaled incorrectly, or don't have spectral maps; issues that were never present in any previous versions of the game. They have released one patch so far, but it didn't fix much, and especially didn't seem to fix the PC specific issues that Nixxes worked on. To be honest, I'd be surprised if we ever see a definitive version on PC, because it appears EM is doing everything in house this time.
I would assume the game plays fine for most, since it's up to the same standard as the latest console version. It's mostly cosmetic and performance issues with the PC version, and from what I've read it can depend on hardware. The bottom line though, is Nixxes had it all fixed before the DC came out, so it just shows that it's another lazy port job that shouldn't be supported.I had on minor bug that was a pretty easy fix. No worries there, but as long as developers get support for their inexcusably lazy ports, they will just continue making them.Ok, but I had fun so there's that.
I have been saving this one so I can burn through some 10-hour games on my backlog. I imagine I'll be putting 50+ hours into it.
