I am pissed that in China everyone wants money to pay them off. WTF? I might have to give in to the night club owner. Damn 5G's.

I was contemplating on this too, but if you do spend 5g's instead of killing the girl, you get an achievement.

Picked this up and so far I am liking it. I prefer just sneaking around (only did the first mission though). Might go back and do the secondary quest though since I am not too far in and I didn't like that I missed it.

Wow so I just found out something pretty cool about something I did earlier in the game.

(first mission spoilers)
So when I first got to Sarif, for the second attack, I just walked around trying to find things/hack door/talk to everybody, thinking that there really wasn't much of a rush since the mission wouldn't start til I got to the heli pad. I thought that all the messages they were sending me to hurry or that the situation is getting worse were just ways to remind me to continue with the mission. Nope. When I finally got around to it, everyone was bitching at me about how I caused all the deaths, and when I got to the hostage room, everyone was already dead. I didn't think anything of it at the time. Maybe I should have hurried...

Anyway I just thought that was kinda cool, how my wandering around had consequences.

That will end soon. i doubt it is worthwhile to hoard weapons and soon you will have to leave your area never to return. Only one weapon should be saved. And i won't spoil it.

If you really like a variety of weapons (like i do) expand your inventory to maximum instead.

Repeat after me, DE3 is an RPG not a FPS .. three times; hits and misses are determined by your stats and the 10-sided dice clicking in the background (like STALKER)
As you level up and buy augments for your weapons, you will have 100% accuracy

Already have my inventory maxed. I'm a hoarder in all games (I have $80k with my melee character, $50k with my guns character in Fallout: NV). Not really about using them - it's the hoarder mentality where you save something "in case" you need it in the future.

I have the shotgun, combat rifle, a pistol, a stun gun, and a tranquilizer in my inventory. Total overkill, especially since I use melee to take most people down.

I have a question about the bar tender in China...

Does he give any other quests or is it just the one with the augmented girl. The reason I ask is I really don't want to pay 5 grand...that's excessively ridiculous. I also don't want to do a number on the girl. So the best option is to just do nothing....unless he gives another quest?

Re: Chinese Bartender

The 5 grand isn't actually ridiculous at all. The quest reward if you bring her chip back, then pay him off is a Praxis upgrade kit. Those go for 5 grand at LIMB clinics by themselves. And the LIMB clinics have limited quantities. I've bought every one I could - have you guys been doing otherwise?

Are any of you guys experiencing stuttering when playing the game? I have a 1055T x6 with 16gb of RAM. ATI 5850.

Yeah I got some with all maxed out at 1080p. It's a known issue and hoping for a patch in the near future to improve this.

You have to leave and come back. I know I was able to check in with him the second time around in the Hive.

Yes, I believe the timer is 15 mins. And if you end up saving them, a guy will invite you to his apartment for some goodies.

I hate how there's no way to tell if hacking a keypad/computer will cause someone around you to become hostile. Nobody cares when I hack 95% of the terminals but every now and then somebody just randomly starts shooting me after I hack a door. I just had to load a 20 minute old autosave because some guys didn't like how I hacked a random door and shot me in the back.

Could be a glitch because sometimes I'll just be standing in the street listening to a conversation and suddenly the police around me become "alarmed" and start running around like they are looking for somebody, but completely ignore me. All the pedestrians start cowering.

I finally finished it tonight, just in time to start playing The Baconing.
I had alot of fun with it, it had alot of different gameplay elements that reminded me of alot of other games, and that was a good thing.
I may play it again at a later date just because there were a few things I didn't fully understand until later in the game. that would have helped me along.
I'm off to Spank some Death...

Here's what I liked about it, in terms of omission.
No forced turret sequences, no crazy low gun limit, no quicktime events, and no unskippable cutscenes (except for the intro), even the first playthrough.
These are what makes a bad game, and I'm glad they skipped that nonsense.
I'd rather "hack" a thousand times than do a quicktime event ever again, and forced turret sequences are horrible.
I played through the first few sections again, and I did them completely differently. Alot of games make you think you have options, but you really don't. I feel like there are options here, and I enjoy that.
I'm not sure why people are saying by crouching you're completely invisible to enemies, that's simply not true. Even in vents they can see you, and will shoot you. If you don't draw attention to yourself you can stay hidden, it makes sense to me.
The boss fights were really the only part I wasn't a fan of. It seemed like they put them in just to have boss fights, not for any kind of story continuum. I understand they are the elites, but it could have been done better, making them flow with the game.
I enjoy sneaking around then getting into firefights, then back to sneaking around behind them to finish them off, it's a very enjoyable game to me.
They also gave you alot of options with the game that people might have complained about, such as the option to turn off the yellow glow around interactable objects, change the FOV in the in game menu, and turn on or off (or choose between) the different graphics options.
These kinds of things were unheard of when I was in the business, and it impresses me how far games have come in the last ten years. You can tell they spent alot of time on it, and while it's not perfect, it's leagues better than some other recent high profile games.

This game hype reminds me of Empire Total, all the hype, all the advertising, I cannot believe all the crap I'm reading about this game.

The Stealth is crap.. as long as you are crouched they can't see you even when you're in light.

The AI is crap.. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty level, I'm so bored instead of even trying to immerse myself in this game anymore, I walk into a new room shoot a couple guys and run out. The mercs won't even follow me through a door, I wait a couple minutes till they are calm, quick save and go in again with less people to kill. They are just walking around calmly with the first people I killed lying on the floor, totally ignored. I think they make the ammo in such short supply to give an illusion of difficulty and tension.

I'm 4 hours into this game and I can't bear to start it up again I was hoping this would be another System Shock 2 like experience. I played that game 80 hours in a one week period, LOL. Now that was a great game, you could listen to the audio logs while you creep through the ship. In Human Revolution, you come across all these newspapers and emails that you have to read but it's all drivel and the Hacking system.. The Hacking System is crap as well. What a useless waste of time, boring as heck and difficult to even understand what you're doing, I don't even WANT to understand it because it's so lame, I want to hack like in Bioshock.

You can't even lean, you could lean in the first dues ex 11 years ago but not anymore... too complicated for the programmers I guess. They try and sell it as stealth and you can't even lean, wow.

I think Far Cry 1 PC had better graphics. You could lean, go prone, find multiple paths and on the hardest difficulty it took me 45 hours to complete. So why is this game taxing my system? I can play Bad Company 2 (500 hours or so) just fine and everything is destructible. In Human revolution you can't even shoot a plastic bottle off a shelf, almost everything is static and will not move.

I was wondering why I couldn't get into this game so I started re-reading user reviews at meta and the best comment I read was, "if this game had a different name and none of the hype it would be lucky to get 60%". I couldn't have said it better.

I'm ranting but only because I got sucked into this crap game $50 down the tubes.

Btw, If you want stealth, Play Splinter Cell it's 100x better.
