I did that my first time around. It was "boring" because I had an inventory full of upgraded guns I was barely using. Even worse, I knocked them out, then headshotted them.

The other "whoring" path is to hack everything and capture all the nodes for the experience bonuses. I'm doing it my second time around, especially because I'm using my guns and only getting 10-30xp (marksman bonus) per takedown rather than the 50.

The energy system is definitely a rip off. I got a bit pissed when I got an extra energy cell, then realized that everything past 1 didn't recharge. Would have been nice to have a quick recharge of the first cell, then a slower recharge of the other cells. There are enough energy recharge resources like energy bars and packs around though.

By the way, which "hard" boss is everyone talking about?

At medium difficulty, that guy was a bitch. But not THAT hard. I just tossed EMP grenades at him, then close-range shotgun (well upgraded), and maybe throw in some heavy rifle.

I do essentially the same thing in Fallout with deathclaws; the shotgun blasting till I'm out of ammo and one of us are dead, reload try again if necessary.

TYphoon makes the boss fights a joke. Two of them and they're down. Killed the final two bosses in about 10 seconds. A good option for those that hate boss fights.

really? I didn't have the same problem, but I didn't use anything but a revolver and running around a wall to beat that boss.

i didnt find the explosive mods, laser rifle, plasma rifle (not PEPS), or silencer and armor penetration mods.

I unloaded a heavy rifle in the face of the girl boss, after unloading two PEPS shots. I had the first mag upgrade, the cooling and laser for the rifle, but I find it funny how much more damage the revolver does.She took all 125 bullets and three more after reload before falling.
I actually encountered a glitch that made her stand still and I simply stood in front of her.

The only boss that was tricky to me was the first, oddly. The others I kept getting worried about, so I saved up rocket launcher (god that thing sucks up a ton of space) and later grenade launcher ammo, and they each went down basically within the first few seconds. The 2nd and 3rd bosses I never actually got to see move, I just unloaded full whammy on them and they folded right into the next cut-scene. The first one I had the 10mm pistol and shotgun (regular), and it took a while to figure out a technique with the barrels and stuff laying around the area.

Played the game on hard and none of the boss fights were challenging. The first one I just stood behind a pillar and waited for him stop firing then unload in his face. The second one I just used the typhoon 4 times in a row when she rushed in at the start. Third was silly and was expecting something harder. Just pop around the corner and fire at his face a few times then repeat. For the last boss, once you get to the first terminal, you can make it to and hack the others before the turrets start backup. You can then just stand in one of those rooms and the electric surges don't hit you nor do the robots get released.

The second cloaking boss wasn't easy, but not too hard when I figured out that I shouldn't just stand still and try to unload on her. I turned on my vision augment (I had practically every other useful aug already) and chucked grenades into her path, or shot her the second she turned a corner before hauling ass.

For the final boss, number 4, I had so much ammo and supplies on me that I just kept shooting and munching on pills. Blew through some Typhoon ammo on the bots too.

The only boss I had a hard time with, and the only one I died fighting, was the first one. He just kept walking straight towards me, there was nothing I could do to stay alive longer than a few seconds. It took me a few tries but I got him eventually.

The next 2 were easy, you just have to keep running around the outside.

Has anyone successfully melee'd any of the bosses?

Every time I try, I get beating down in one going.

6 hours and ALREADY in China? I put in about 15 hours and just landed in China.

I'm super OCD, _I_ have to find all the nooks and crannies, and make it point to kill everyone in my missions. So there's not one punk alive in gang area or FEMA facility.

Apparently my estimation was way off. Steam said I had played 14 hours when I checked last night. Put in another 2 and made it to the next location.

I have a question about the last part of China:

How did other people get past the room full of guys after meeting the CEO woman? I ended up just throwing 2 gas grenades and running past them. I didn't see any way to sneak past them all without the grenades and I died a few times trying to fight.

When looking down at the guards, there is an air vent in the right corner. It takes you to the side of the room where they all gather at the beginning, behind a couch. It's not too hard to get out without them seeing you.

Haven't even noticed yet but I looked and steam said I had 26 hours logged. I barely competely the first side mission in China. Great game. I spend a lot of time looking everyone then hacking everything then selling things piece by piece. By the time I got to China I had like 26k and that's after buying everything in the first area that I wanted. I now bought everything I needed in the second area which brought me down to 14k but now I have 25k again. This is after getting lazy and not selling every gun that i come across that I dont use.

That's one of the reasons I didn't bother with it; just had a feeling it would be bugged (though so far I've only killed the mercs in the beginning). You've gotta really watch it because once I tranq'ed somebody and was surprised to find that he actually died from it! Had to do a take down instead.

Is there anyway to do a consistent benchmark for this game? I'm going to try tweaking some things and overclocking my CPU/GPU and I want a reference point to see what kind of increases I get.

If you're going the non-lethal route, it's been answered.

I just threw one grenade at the stairwell, and it wiped out 3/4 of them. Nice timing. The rest were pretty easy.
