I think it might be about time to upgrade my computer. C2D@3.0Ghz, 4GB, and ATI 4870 are starting to show their age just a little bit. Amazing it lasted this long really.

I agree. The load times are horrendous. What's crazy is it's slow even if the game is already running. What I mean is if I am loading the game from a cold boot, I can understand it taking some time to load everything into memory. However, once a level is loaded and say I die immediately and load the same save file, it shouldn't take this long to load it again.

THey've released a patch to help with the load times. Up to 50% depending on hardware.

Due to the shit Gamestop did with the game and that OnLive business, I've bought it from STEAM. Fuck you Gamestop! I hope the game is good.

I bought from Futureshop and the disc just installs onto Steam. Essentially you just avoid having to download it, which is worth it to me because 8Gb install is $20 premium if I completely go over my bandwidth cap doing it.

The new patch rocks... load problems are gone and now I really have no complaints. All I've done is played the first mission over and over. First lethal, then stun and now I just got the ghost bonus on Deus Ex mode for the first mission. Ha! I'm having fun. (I like sneaking) Onto the second mission now.

god damn how do you beat the first boss dude in the. fucking a

There are a lot of helpful objects in the arena with him.. the gas tanks hurt him a lot.. pick them up and throw them at him.. EMP grenades also help keep him immobilized.

Thanks for posting the photos man, I always prefer photos taken by actual gamers vs photos released by the studio/publisher for marketing purposes. Just curious, are these photos from maxed out settings?

i bumped the settings up to max on everything last night, didnt really notice anything different. ill post them up when i get home. gameplay was unchanged with the settings, i guess anyone with a powerful comp will have no issues maxing it out

i run with vsync on so i dont know what it was hitting for FPS but i can check

I took hacking, hacking and stealth hacking for my first upgrades. Most likely going to max out my hacking skills first as it seems to net some good xp and gets you into some nice places.

Working on energy and stealth next.

i took hacking stealth +1 as well as fortify 1 or 2 and then upgraded to hacking level 3, i have +1 storage space upgrade as well as the one that lets you lift heavier stuff

also the one the helps read peoples emotions

hacking level upgrades help a lot there are TON of level 3 locked doors/comps early on in the game

the arm one that lets you lift heiver stuff is also extreamly handy

I just finished the first mission and so far I took +1 Hacking, +1 inventory space, and +1 to lifting heavier objects. So far I'm taking a 'stealthy until I'm in a good position to kill everyone' run. I know you get the most xp for going stealth, non lethal but I'm going to enjoy the gunplay first and probably try the stealth, non lethal play the second round. Im also tempted to do a melee fighter build for fun and see how that goes. I've also noticed the increased load times after that patch.

I'm following similiar route. Went heavy hacking early. Good for XP, and good for getting into a lot of areas.

I'm planning to be a stealth/hacker/tank/takedown artist. Stealth is too cool not to get, hacking is a must.

Even though health regenerates I find that i die extremely fast once I make a mistake/miscaluclation. I may pump my armour. The double takedown is awsome for coming out of stealth.

The energy path doesn't make much sense to me because only the first bar ever regenerates. Huge gameplay mechanic issue IMO. If the game is driven around using energy for cool gameplay, then it is a lousy choice to cripple the engery regen skill by limiting it to a single cell. Its obvious that if there is a skill for pumping up energy regen rate, then that it should regen energy bars not a single energy bar. Maybe that's just me.

I guess i'll need to stock up on energy revitalizers.
