His apartment was very sk worthy, even w/o the ebay acquisition.

Cast member dates sk.
A main Characters sister dates a sk.

How original!

I'm beginning to the the writers are the most uncreative beings alive.

I was slowly starting to expect the prof to be dead, and this dude to be crazy....he had all the linkings of being crazy. I am curious about Masuka's intern though, I just hope he doesn't grow into a SK, hopefully just an employee or something.

I've been sure of the twist for two past episodes and suspected it one episode before that. Why did they make it so obvious?

Instead of revealing that Travis was acting alone by the discovery of Gellar, I think it would have been much better if Dexter would've discovered him beating the shit out himself with the shovel. LOL.

And your post saying what it was is...

I tend to discuss TV shows elsewhere. There were long discussions about it from episode one, and many of us were discussing developments in each episode as they related to the prediction. For a while there was some doubt as
Gellar seemed to start interacting physically with the real world, but then they showed Dexter's dad doing the same thing with some of Harrison's toys. Also, when they were at a bar, it was weird that Gellar was occupying a stool. I think that is the only real weak spot in the reveal as it was not really clear what was happening there since the bar was crowded and clearly someone would have taken that stool.

In the restaurant scenes, Travis was the only one with silverware, plates, etc. and no one interacted with Gellar. In the very first episode it was fairly clear because Gellar didn't actually do any of the work. He just kept instructing Travis what to do (catch the snakes, kill the fruit cart vendor). As the season has gone on, we've seen Gellar "do things" but only in the presence of Travis.

I was hoping they'd make the reveal really sneaky and the surprise would be that Gellar was actually there. But that would require assuming the audience had caught on to the possibility that he wasn't there, which apparently half the people in this thread (or more) didn't.

i don't understand why people use spoiler tags to discuss episodes of season 6 that have already aired in a season 6 thread. they are really annoying.

I can only speak for myself. Since, as I mentioned, I don't often post in TV show plot threads on ATOT, I wasn't sure of the "official" or "unofficial" spoiler etiquette/rules. I saw others using them so figured that a whole-season thread must not imply that people can post without spoilers about plot developments.

I was kind of wondering/hoping for the same thing - I thought it was pretty obvious from the start that Gellar was gone/dead and now only existed in Travis's head... too obvious. So the twist would have been that he's actually alive.

I asked my wife if she wanted to hear my theory around episode 2 or 3... I don't like spoiling things for her when I think I have something figured out, but in this case thought it was (intentionally) fairly obvious. It hadn't crossed her mind at that point, though.

There's been so much focus on the various passengers this season - Brother Sam conquering his, Travis's, Brian and Harry both being in Dexter's head... and Dexter repeatedly points out the difference between him and Travis is that he can kill Travis's passenger. I'm disappointed that they made it this easy to figure out.

I guess maybe part of the point was that it's obvious to the audience, but not Dexter, for once... maybe indicating that he's losing his edge.

There's a lot of retrospective self-assurance going on in this thread. That something you didn't know is "obvious" in hind-sight shows only that you have a poor grasp on your own reality; Making a bet on a multitude of outcomes and then discounting all of your wrong-bets by simply forgetting that you "thought that" does not make you prescient or insightful: We all do it, so I'm not pointing you out Booties.

I don't like that they seem to have dropped/stop caring about the numbers in the slips of paper:

"no numbers on this one"

Dexter: "because tom hank's kid was there and it was him, not admiral Adama, that put the numbers in there" and BAM numbers are dismissed.

Possible Spoiler:

Do you think Gellar is in Travis' head?

I thought this as well, but
I would be pretty pissed if it was. It would be a massive plot hole, so big you could fit all of Herman Cains mistresses through it, because of the points Zooyuka makes below. He did miss the biggest one which is that Dexter saw him, along with others. It seems like they are trying to set that up, but I am fairly sure that he was seen by others through the season. He could have been killed off at some point mid-season though I suppose.

If there is a manhunt for him why can he just walkout in public so easily? The old TA claims she hasn't heard from him in years. The Doomsday Bible was in Travis' apartment. When he visited his sister she claims that Travis is a good painter, yet we've never seen him paint. We have seen Gellar paint several times though. The scene with Gellar being the peeping tom makes more since with this. I'm sure if I keep thinking I probably could come up with more.

Yeah pretty much this.

I'm kind of torn on this season. There are so many questions I have that I don't think will all get answered. What link will Trinity have (well Jonah)? Was it just filler episode? What about the lab assistant dude? Do we need 3/4 serial killers in this season? Seems too much. What about Quinn and his fat Waffle House employee fucks? So many more questions...

NOBODY in public saw Gellar, not really sure what you are talking about. No one other than Travis has "seen" him at all. Dexter has asked him 2 or 3 times where Gellar is, and we can see him on camera, but as soon as Dexter turns to see him he's gone. He is in Travis head and nothing else.

I didn't even think that was a question anymore after the end of the past episode. They flat out told us Gellar is in his head and has been dead for some time. Gellar is in his head and/or is part of him.

Travis is batshit crazy that is all, and he too has a dark passenger just like dexter.

and please FFS stop using spoiler tags when discussing parts of season 6 that have already happened. it's extremely annoying.

Was there working electricity all season in the church? I could be wrong, but I don't remember any. I seem to remember Travis and Gellar working under either the sunlight coming in from the church or candlelight. It seemed odd that there was a plugged in freezer.

There's a lot of retrospective self-assurance going on in this thread... *snip*

Let me try again... I was fairly certain from early on that Gellar was in Travis's head. In comparison to other movies or shows, I think the clues were relatively obvious - it wasn't exactly a "Sixth Sense" moment (for me) when he opened up that freezer. What I'm wondering is - was it supposed to be?

If someone was just watching this season casually... maybe surfing the web while the show is on or otherwise distracted - I could easily see them missing some of the clues. But, as others pointed out, the guy was out in public when his face was plastered all over the newspapers, he appeared out of nowhere, only spoke to Travis, etc.

I guess I just think that, if they wanted this to be a shocking plot twist, they could have kept the secret better... if they kept Gellar in the church or in the shadows at night and out of public I would have been shocked when it was revealed that he was dead. I was hoping for more - like maybe Gellar is still alive and doesn't know Travis is doing all this... or that he knew Travis was nuts and went into hiding...

Whatever. It's still a good show. I also agree that it's lame they just dropped the numbers thing with a weak explanation. Unless... I'm trying to remember... did the numbers stop when Dexter got close to Travis? Maybe he couldn't get back to his bible to cut them out?

I finally saw the latest episode. LOL @ Quinn.

Maybe the funniest moment the show's had in 6 seasons. I get some chuckles here and there, but don't think I've ever laughed out loud like that.

"Oh god. We took pictures."

hahah, when the hot chick answered the door and mentioned the mom, I thought it was going to be an old, nasty stripper. Pleasantly surprised to see it was even worse.

can someone tell me why they pretty much gave away the whole finale in the previews?
Showtime does seem to give away way too much. This year is the first time I've actually had Showtime (watching Homeland, too) and I would rather not know. The...other way I used to watch Dexter...never used to include the previews. But the lady likes to watch them...
