The preview showed Isaac shooting up a shop (Ice Cream store?) in an attempt to kill Dexter.

EDIT:

Thinking about it... that might draw some heat onto Dexter. How will he play off an assassination attempt? He may be a relatively important lab guy, but probably not important enough to warrant a hit unless he did something that needs to be erased like tampering with evidence.

Hmm, interesting. We don't get the previews, so never saw that. Definitely will/should raise some interesting questions. There have to be only about five episodes left?

That's interesting. Is it not shown on a "Showtime Canada" or something like that?

It plays on Movie Central up here, at least the feed we record is from that channel, so they just show ads for something else they want to promote at the end. Not sure why.

I looked for this thread to see if it was just me that thought this show was going downhill fast. Glad to know I'm not the only one. The only thing I've really enjoyed is the acting of Issac. That guy has been good.

Not sure which is worse, the way Deb is OK with Dexter's killing, or the fact she's in love with the guy who's been her brother all her life.

I agree with all of this. I thought the Deb thing from from last season was ridiculous when she said it to the shrink. I don't know how they will drag this out for another season and a half, but I feel obligated to watch for some reason.

Not a spoiler just what I think will eventually happen.
I think Deb will kill Anna and or LaGuerta and then it snowballs from there.

Of course! He's the goddamn Punisher! Although, as much as some people like to hate on that movie, if you just want over-the-top violence, it certainly gave you that.

I'm actually digging this season quite a bit, though I agree some of the Deb stuff is kind of dumb. Ray Stevenson is killing it though; he is just awesome and I love the back and forth between him and Dexter. The only thing that concerns me
is the fact they are making Isaac a very sympathetic character now and it seems inevitable he will have to be killed, which sucks because I am really starting to like the guy. Going to be tough to kill off such a likeable character now.
Four episodes to see how it is all resolved.

I didn't care that much for that movie. I do think that it was the very bad acting from the villains of that movie that really annoyed me. His take on the Punisher didn't bother me, there's really not too much meat on that one.

I do love that back and forth, which goes towards the actor crush I've developing on Stevenson.

One thing I have to say about the seasons is the more they stray away from the sociopath from season 1 the less I find myself liking him.

I definitely agree; however, I think this season is pretty good. I thought the most recent episode was particularly good.

I thought this week's episode was just ridiculously bad. The show has begun reminding me on Entourage - they are both shows which were never high art but were appealing light entertainment, but hung on too long and became hollow parodies of themselves. This Dexter-Hannah-Deb love triangle is absurd, and at this point Jennifer Carpenter as a homicide lieutenant has become roughly as plausible as Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist in one of the Brosnan Bond movies. I am flabbergasted that there were people in that Breaking Bad-vs.-Dexter thread calling Dexter the better show.

Season 1 vs Season 1 I would have agreed. Now? No way, not even close.

Don't make me puke.

I thought this season was beginning quite promising, then it tailed off to the very familiar all over again, with a dish of stupidity. Hannah, Deb, LaGuerta, Quinn are all so uninteresting. Isaac is the only remotely interesting one (up until the totally predictable "twist" last episode).

This season has been excellent. There is a lot going on, however I worry about resolving it all. Sometimes when you have too many plot lines and too much tension, resolving it all at once requires some lame resolution.

Rest of Season below

Nadia sets up Quinn.
Quinn will succumb to bolemia after being shot by Ukrainians in retaliation for Quinn killing George Novikov.
Dexter is subject to more acting lessons by Titus Pullo until he gets bored. Dexter finally uses a gun.
Deb kills Hannah.
LaGuerta = poisoned by Debra

Episode ends with Dexter suffering a heart attack in front of Deb

There's still one more season after this one.

yurg 'oh i'll eat what my hostage prepares for me' is an idiot

the assassins are idiots, though the gun range scene was cool

ray stevenson was wasted

did they bring in the arson investigator/arsonist because they couldn't put together a decent story with what they had?

i'll guess dexter killing george will cover up whatever stupid shit quinn did.

I'm thinking they extend parts of this seasons story into the next season.

Although I wonder what sort of cliffhanger could be more interesting than the season 6 one.

Too bad Isaak had run his course as he was the more interesting character between him and Hannah. However, it'll be interesting to see if Debs accident was due to her anti-depressant side effects or something Hannah did. I'm guessing the former.

Laguerta's investigation into Dexter could be interesting if done as well as the Isaak storyline.

I'm not really sure what they're doing in the show anymore. There have been a billion small plots in this season, and most have been easy ways to throw drama in the mix.
