Rita had pretty much run her course as a character. She was just a whiny b*tch at the end.

I was shocked at the end...but I have to agree with you. I think the way it ended for her was better than her discovering Dexter's true secret and him having to kill her to protect himself or something along those lines.

Damn that ending was real depressing. Thought it was supposed to be a feel good show - I was actually just hoping they would just wrap up the series with this season. Rita was everyone's least favorite character, but pretty cruel to kill her off. Maybe if Dexter wasn't fucking off the whole season hanging out with Arthur and Saving his life he could of found time to kill him earlier

Also doesn't really make sense that Arthur wouldn't mention killing Dexter's Wife before hand when he was on the table.

But I have said in the past that the show is too predictable, so I guess they got me this time. Sucks that we have to wait forever for another season. I think I might just give up on this show, as good as it is. I cants takes the anxiety of the show from week to week!

Well at least I can cancel showtime for a while . Any idea when next season will start? They said to go to the website for more information but there's nothing about an upcoming season on there.

I still don't know if I'll continue to watch the series though. I do hate big downer endings. In my mind I can try to think like the show really ended after season 3 ...it wasn't as good of a season but went off on a good note anyways. All the previous seasons ended on a good note which is why this one was a shocker. I think this was the ending they had to choose to continue the series though...but I would of rather they just ended the series there on a good note. My Brother still hasn't finished season 3. I'll probably recommend he just skip season 4 and so on.

I haven't seen it yet but I can't say I'm disappointed with this development. Other than the rare cleavage shot this character was too annoying.

It seems that a couple of months ago we were complaining of Dexter burnout. I guess they're trying to keep us around for another season.

I don't think he saw Trinity's face. Dexter fucked up bad when he went into a rage after Trinity found him at the station. The writers dropped off so many threads for season 5 -

while rita as a character was pretty annoying, I was rooting for dexter to find a way to manage his dark side and still be "normal" as much as possible...the finale has thrown that all out of whack.

I don't think that. I think that the police will think Rita was killed by Trinity.

Trinity killed Rita. And Trinity visited Dex either as part of his ritual while he was planning the Rita kill or the meeting with Dex was random because Trinity was at the station trying to find out info on the investigation.

Good question. Are you implying he was Dex's fathers friend and knows about Dexter's "dark passenger"?

Yeah, in the episode Dexter actually assessed the parking garage after following Arthur there. He said "no security" or something to that extent, so there were probably no/few cams.
