Dexter's getting to the point where I'd rather just read a plot synopsis about tonight's episode rather than sit through the episode.
Good episode. The shit will hit the fan and some outrageous shit will go down the last two episodes of the season, as always. Did not see the thing about reporter chick at the end coming. I think she is the one who shot Deb and Lundy (obvious right? but no one else mentioned that yet). She might be in cahoots with Lithgow, or she knew he was a killer and did it to protect him from being caught.
Thought Masuka being there at the dinner would lead to him bringing up the question of where Dexter was, and then Masuka saying "No, Dexter doesn't have any wor to do today", since Masuka would probably know about any assignments Dex has. That might still come up in the next episode when Masuka tells Dex about the neighbor coming onto Rita.
Storyline about Laguerta and the fat cop is painfully boring!! Dexter attacking Lithgow like that was uncharacteristic of his character, I thought that part was bad writing. Dexter is a master of control and patience, and above all of hiding his monster side. If he were planning to take out Trinity he would not want the family seeing his face because when the police question everyone after Trinity is dead they might bring up Dexter. And then Rita will be like Wtf dex, are you having a secret friendship w/o telling me? Divorce. So plot holes galore.... but still more entertaining than reality tv, and most of the other shows on tv.
Isn't it mega obvious she's in cahoots with Lithgow, considering he's her father?
No shit. My jaw about hit the floor."Hi dad"
lol, wat? Didn't see that one coming.
My first thought was that he was there to kill her."Hi dad"

I agree.

Good theory.

Yes that is a plot hole I have been wondering about. Clearly if Lithgow disappeared they would want to know about Dexter. And Dexter gave them the phony name of Kyle, so suspicion would naturally fall on him.

Actually I thought Dexter having feelings for Lithgows family was out of character. The first two seasons Dexter was always talking about how he was pretending to have feelings, and he was some kind of asocial personality.
She could have shot Deb out of jealousy? Thinking maybe she was a rival for Quinn?
Huh. At the time I thought he was the shooter and he was just upset with himself, like he was in the season opener after he killed the woman in the bathtub.Actually, recall a couple episodes a go when Trinity is in a diner visibly upset about seeing the news of Lundy's shooting on TV. I forget exactly what he said though.
