Hi Everyone,

Yes, I did fall asleep though not with the Simpsons. It's still early enough to get to the daily though for people in some places. Thanks for the early post of ATWE, Sid, and the pokes, bunker and GhettoFob.

Milestone makers

Kris hits 125M folds! :Q

Tr3s Lunas hits 5M folds!

Congrats to the milestone makers!

FoBoT: Hmm, seems like a bit of a drop in output (you're last couple of days since the switch have had some very consistent numbers). Still, 6.4M ain't bad at all (good for 8th). RMS puts you in 17th.

non-FoBoT:
Top Folder: Kris with 126.3M folds!
Best RMS: ATWE Terrahawk with a 7.76, which is worth 28th!
Best Production: ATWE Robor once again! 4.1M folds puts him in 16th!

Producers Of the Day

FoBoT 6.4M
ATWE Robor 4.1M
ATWE Terrahawk 3.1M
ATWE Insidious 1.9M
ATWE bfour 1.6M
ATWE LastKnight 1.6M
ATWE ReaganCRW 1.2M
Kris 1.1M

Congrats to the POD's!

TeAm Stuff

Looks like it's been a while since we've managed to get an AT'er in the top 10 list for more than a couple of days. Hopefully we'll have some more luck.
Sid, btw I think that it may be correct that the RMS seems to get stuck until installed on a new machine. Looking at the results from the last protein, I (and a couple of other people) hit their best RMS's way, way back and I think very few improved. How bout posting best RMS data with the ATWE? When we hit the next protein change we can make a graph of average RMS / folds produced or something like that; it won't be 100% accurate since we don't know what people's best RMS was at the beginning of the protein (or exactly how many folds they were at) but it could illuminate if there is something strange going on.

Daily Production: Another fine day for TADF. 27.9M puts us into 3rd. 800K more will give us 2nd!

See everyone tonight!

Thanks m0ti

/me stops poking m0ti

Congrats to the MMs and PODs

I'll start mapping the BEST RMS values on the ATWE score sheet. The values will be on 'Sheet2' and the plot will be on 'Chart1' of
the same spreadsheet. (only one data point per day to keep my life simpler)

**********************************************
If people could PM me when they re-install (including removing original distribfold directory contents) or add a new client/machine I'll mark
those data points. This exercise won't mean much unless we have that info.
**********************************************

Good day to all

ATWE Robor 4.1M

WooHoo! Another day above the 4M mark!

I'm going to assimilate another P4-1.8/256MB today so hopefully that will give us a little more production.

Congrats to the MM'ers & POD's and thanks m0ti & Sid!

our daily production is very close to matching Rechenkraft net (although it might be due to some of their people hording for a dump)

it took just over two days to get the first billion of this protein, so three weeks is all it should take
if it goes just a little faster, that would put the next protein change on 28 Jan, if things are just a bit slow it would be the following week, 4 Feb

good job TeAm!

That doesn't sound like much fun. I hope you've got a weekend mixed in there somewhere!

Hope the work situation improves.

Thanks m0ti...I'll keep the poking stick handy .

As far as the RMS goes, 2 proteins ago my best was around 9.8, with the last protien it dropped to 8.6. We'll see what happens with this one.

*Edit - I was in about 6 place for the RMS (according to statsman) with the last protein, I'm now down in the teens with a better rms of 6.54. I'd say people are finding new lows.

bunker,

We're interested in the RMS values during the time of a protein (and not in the values for different proteins).

Both Sid and I think we have detected some strange anomaly of RMS tending to not improve over a long period of time, and then when a new client is installed it improves all of a sudden. Looking back at the last protein I think I had my best structure by 1 billion folds. Statistically speaking it should have come closer to the 5 billion mark, and the same is true for previous proteins.

Sid posted to Howard about this but it is definitely at the level of speculation currently, so we want to do a bit of a controlled experiment to check it out.

howard posted a snippet about the "new" stuff coming up, in an unrelated thread

As for the new method, I am busy coding it now as we speak, the new infrastructure I'm putting in will allow us to try several different ideas, all sharing the common idea of iteration. i.e. make some structures locally, then take the best one(s) and do something with it to then make more structures, etc. Thus there will be a lots less uploading to the server but occasional downloading as well. Most changes will be invisible to the user though. We'll keep you posted as it develops.

This isn't going to be good for the corps. and sneakers is it? (the need to d/l work)

I guess if he puts in place a decent queuing system... it won't hurt too bad.

(OMG, I don't want a fiasco like some of our fellow ATers have had to deal with on other projects)
