- A few announcements - firstly, fo anyone who downloaded the UNIX client directly from the Download page of the web site since this Tuesday, please note that some switches were accidentally set wrong in the foldit script. Please check the foldit script and ensure the '-if' flag is not present unless you wanted it to be (see the Readme for details on what each flag does)

- An updated version of the software has been released (only the protein was updated on Tuesday) which fixes a number of minor issues, so grab the new verison if any of these affect you: time and date stamps are added in the error.log for some network errors; updates might be detected better behind transparent proxy servers now; and a bug in reading the foldtraj_fileserver.cfg file (when using the update proxy daemon) was corrected.

- Lastly, and most importantly, we have yet another two ports! By popular request we've released a 32-bit IRIX client. We've also released a Sony Playstation 2 Linux client. This requires Sony's 'Linux Kit', available for purchase at www.playstation.com, and has not been specifically optimized for the CPU so it runs a little slow. Head over to the Download section to get these of course.

My son caught me reading the post about crunching DF on the PS2......
He assures me it would be hard to type with broken fingers, so I better just keep it on the PC.

When I was doing the ATWE stats today, I was struck with the size of the contribution you guyz have put into this!
I (and the rest of TeAm DF, I'm sure) am very grateful for all the participation and stick-to-it've-ness of everyone.
We're in the home stretch (only about 3 weeks left).... Keep up the good work

i think Sid was just referring to the ATWE elephant race being over in 3 weeks

this protein should last until march 4th or maybe the following week at the current rate

it is unknown whether another protein with the current client will be run or if the next phase client will be ready. i would guess since the new client hasn't begun beta testing, that we will run one more protein with the "old" client

OOPS, didn't mean to mislead ya there.

The ATWE is just a race we have been doing since late november. We didn't have many members and things were getting a bit dull, so the ATWE was just a gadget to generate some interest and recruit for the TeAm. I'll put my regular sig back and then you can read about it if you're curious.

The DF project doesn't stop or change when ATWE ends.

Congratulations to all of us for keeping up the great production

I'm still assimilating machines wherever possible (added another Athlon XP 1700+ yesterday) and fixed up a protein change that didn't go through on one of our duallies (that should give me another three hundred thousand per day or so).

I haven't had a chance to get over to the Durons yet to have a further look at the processlist file yet, m0ti but you'll be the first to know when I get there
