Welcome Folders,

Another banner day for TeAm DF. Solid production across the board from a large number of members. 13 members produced 100K+ for the day... of those 8 produced over 200K for the day! Nice numbers, everyone!

Today's milestone makers:

bfour makes 10M folds!

kmmatney makes 3M folds (and increased his production to a very nice 332K/day!)!
CrazySaint makes 500K folds!

Congratulations to the MM's!

Top Folder: TA TheMagicman with 87.4M folds!
Best RMS: Kris still sits atop the RMS mountain with his 10.19 (now good for 160th)!
Best Production: bfour puts out a very, very impressive 550K (good for 59th!)

Notable Producers Of The Day:

bfour
Insidious

Really strong, overall team showing today makes it super hard to crack the notable producers list (10% of daily production or more). Hopefully, production will stay this rock steady across the board so that it can be lowerd to say 7.5% to have more people on the list (and more 's too!).

TeAm Stuff:

Currently about 115M away from 17th and outproducing them at a rate of 700K/day. Luckily, there's a slower moving target ahead. 15th place is 235M away, but we are outproducing them at a rate of 3.3M/day. So that should only take about 80 days.

Daily Production: A very respectable 3.6M for today which gives us a showing of ... 15th! 300K more will give us 14th!

Weekly Production: A solid showing also at 15th! 3M more for 14th!

See everyone tomorrow!

Congrats team!
Nice day bfour!

Tonight I was able to get a few machines running, my mp boards are flaking, have been for weeks. Finally found a 40A 5V rail PS in another box that might keep my Tiger running. What a pain those things are! The Raidmax 320 I got for it cost alot and failed to do the job on the 2460, just as an FYI for any prospective dualie builders.

Anyway, nice work team!

Thanks m0ti!

thanks guys, Baldy was getting too close, so I dumped 3 machines in less than an hour! Got one more that I figured out how to sneakernet DF! Only a 900Tbird though! Slowly but surely moving up in the team ranking! Watch out Twilight your in my sights! Besides I said I had only one machine running D2OL, and there's the proof!

What happened to my 6 million milestone. Been waiting for that one but I don't see it listed for 10/17 or 10/28

Hmm...

Perhaps people would like more milestones?

Maybe the 6M-9M region added in?

Do we want a new milestone poll?

I thinnk recognition for milestones at the million level after 1 million would be better, and easier to track!

Ok,

That's fine by me.

How bout the following guidelines:

1) Min distance to a milestone is 100K
2) Max distance to a milestone is 25% of current number of folds (except under 4M).

So new milestones would be something like this:

100K, 200K, ... 500K
1M, 2M, ... 10M
12.5M, 15M, 17.5M, 20M
25M, 30M, ... 50M
60M, 70M, ... 100M
125M, 150M, ... 250M
300M, 350M, ... 500M
600M, 700M, ... 1G

That's alright, then?

Any comments?

We'll do a poll to make sure everybody is happy...

Pardon me..coming through...excuse me...pardon me

But seriously, I've picked DF to be my post ECCp project. It seems to have the least amount of interference with everyday tasks on the computers at work.

Sounds good m0ti! (new milestones)

It seems to have the least amount of interference with everyday tasks on the computers at work.

That's been my experience here too. DF does a great job of stepping aside. Once, I forgot to turn it off when I was using
3DMark2001se to check a driver upgrade and lost less than 100 points (out of 7500 or so). I've yet to find a job that
made me wish to turn it off. (This includes ripping, burning, gaming....)

I like the milestone idea (getting harder as you go), but I think they increase a little too much once you get up to the 50 million level. How about a cap at 10 million increments (unless we get some REALLY good crunchers on the project).

10M cap's probably ok.

It depends on the protein what kind of speed we can get... With small proteins, top crunchers can do 1M+ a day with little trouble (2 Athlons at 1.4Ghz + will do about 500+K). At those speeds they'll be knocking down milestones about once a week. 25M puts that about to about 3 weeks.

Then again for longer proteins (like the current one), those times will be doubled. So that'd be around two weeks for 10M and 1.5Months for a larger protein. I guess we'll deal with the higher end later on, once somebody manages to rise above the 100M bar.
