Nice production again today, everyone! Good job! We're getting some serious firepower from the four notable producers (over half of the team's production)! Thanks guys!

Outproduced 17th by 1M. That puts us a little over 100 days away from passing them. Outproduced 15th by 3.5M. We'll be passing them in about 65 days! Great stuff!

Daily Production: A solid 4.1M for the day! Great stuff! That's good enough for 11th! Just 400K back from the top 10!!!

On a side note: Ya know yer doin' something right when you walk into the cubbie jungle and see 2 screens with AnandTech banners waving and hear engineers saying stuff like: "Hey, have you seen this.... they have an answer for everything!"

My DF client crashed (again) shortly after I left this morning and I lost about 40k of production.

Try having it output progress every few hundred structures or so to the disk.

ALso if you've got it installed as a service you can have it restart if it crashes with little difficulty.

I'm using the CLI client on Win98FE, it currently uploads every 5k structures. How do I change how often it outputs to disk?

Btw, I setup a Windows/Linux dualboot on this machine last night (Mandrake 9.0) and I just installed the Linux DF client about an hour ago, and it is FAST! Its at least 25% faster than in Win98! w00t

Easiest way is to get DFGui (link).

Check the box marked progress update and set it to a couple hundred.

Hmm, now that I checked out the (DF) readme, that might only work for a service.

Well... good luck, then.

At some point dfQ will come out and then you can stop worrying about that.

the "s" switch sets the number of structures to build between uploads or in other words, the number of structures produced before they are saved to disk
the minimum value for this is 1000
this switch is the same for windows and linux

if running in windows as a service, you use "uploadfreq=1000" in the service.cfg to set this value

additionally for a service you can add in progress=### in to service.cfg if running it as a service, and it will buffer the results to disk every ###.

you can do this and leave your uploadfreq at whatever level you want.

I did just order an Iwill dualie from Newegg, a refurb, but at that price, I couldn't resist.
With a pair of agoga 1900's, this might be a neat little toy, considering the mpx2's 'clocking capacity.
I still havn't gotten my stupid Tiger up to speed, if anybody saw my post about it's ps a few days ago.

I'd love to tell you yes, but reality says different. My co-workers are engineers, but not the software type. It is amazing....

We can design embedded controllers, fuel cell buses, and hybrid propulsion systems, but when you start talking about PCs

you can see toes curl up and brilliant minds quiver. Most of them take what Dell or Compaq dishes out and are afraid to change

so much as the color of their desktop in the fear their PC will self destruct and spew poison gas throughout the neighborhood.

I'm trying though...... maybe I'll convince one or two of them to join us yet......

edit: I just looked statsman..... only 60K for the last 6 hours... thats only my (2) comps.... GREAT... instead of getting re-inforcements, I seem to be loosing them
