Hi Everybody,

Hope that those of you have Boxing Day in your countries got in on some good deals.

Well, we are very very momentairly back in 6th, just about 1M ahead of Rechenkraft.net. Somebody's dump certainly helped.

TeAm Stuff:

Well it's good to be in 6th, if only temporarily. We should be back in 6th on a more permanent basis in a couple of days though. It's looking like the end of January for the top 5.

Daily Production: A rock solid, 31.7M, a good 700K ahead of Rechenkraft.net. That puts us back into the minimal acceptable placing () for Team Anandtech DF at our current membership rates, 2nd.

Hope everybody enjoyed their holidays, and has a good time leading up to New Years!

Thanks m0ti! Its good to be back in our proper place (ahead of Rechenkraft.net! )in terms of daily production!

My client has been crashing all day so my production is really low The good news is that I wasn't able to dump my 350 Christmas Eve or Christmas day, so I'm due for a 3 day dump tonight , the bad news is that combined with my abismal production today, I'm likely due for my first speeding ticket Ah well, at least it still goes to the TeAm! I just wish I could figure out what's wrong with my client. Hmmmm...I just realized that I don't think I ever downloaded and re-installed the new client fresh in Windows, just Linux. I'll give that a try and hope it fixes it!

Thanks m0ti!

Tomorrow things slow back down to their normal chaos... Holidays are the best, but they wear me out.

Gotta get all rested up for NYE!

Congratulations to all the MMs today! You guys nailed some of the big ones today NICE

Now, as for you LastKnight.... I noticed..
enjoy it while it lasts.... Hopefully, Redly1 and Craig will get their boxen fired back up soon and then......
Well let's just say I'm hoping to owe you a beer! (Congrats on 3rd LastKnight! )

I just did a fresh install, so let's hope it will keep chugging now! I expect to dump something around 200k from the 350 tonight. Now that I (hopefully) have my client up and running properly again, I'm gonna give it a few hours of normal production, then dump in hopes of averting a ticket.

Heh, I know I've said it before but I've got to say it again... Terrahawk is tearing us to pieces. At his current production rate I'm going to get doubled soon! That's okay though, it's just pushing the TeAm higher.

Congrats to the MM'ers & POD's and thanks m0ti & Sid!

looks like we are done with Rechenkraft net
they dumped some more and are < 1 million from TE

we will pass TE ourselves before new year's and then overclocker's network will be sometime during the next protein, then it will be a loooooooong journey to reach the KWSN

good job to everybody, i know we all did our best, resources are after all finite. i want to thank everyone for their efforts to push our team higher and higher!

yep, I think we can be proud of a great effort. I believe, with patience we may be able to claw our way back (I don't think Rechenkraft has the wherewithal to continue their present pace in DF for the long haul.)

ARGH! Even after downloading the client again and installing to an ENTIRELY NEW directory, it STILL crashed after only a few hours worth of production! That and I forgot to dump my 350 again last night pretty well guarantees a speeding ticket...

I'm experimenting with overclocking with my K6 now... so far gone from 100 x 5.5 to 112 x 5.0 (550 and 560 MHz) and it appears that they're exactly the same speed. I had to disable the motherboard L2 to make the 112 bus speed work.

Update: The 112 x 5.0 is definitely slower. Will go back to 100 x 5.5

Further Update: 95 x 6 runs Windows okay, but DF bombs.

Same experience here, DF is the first app to show instability when I OC too far.

I think it is a combination of how deeply it digs into the system and code that is not as robust
as "commercial" apps.

I had one comp. that would bomb DF every 5 or 6 hours. (set it to restart the service on failure so I didn't loose many folds). Took FSB down 1MHz and it
hasn't crashed since.

So far, I haven't found a faster or more accurate way than DF to prove (to myself) that I'm stable when I experiment with clocks.
I have found that if DF crashes (at all) sooner or later something else will (usually IE) if I don't get it taken care of.

hmmm... a box that doesn't like DF , bummer :\

Its a 1.8A currently at 147FSB (~2.65GHz). I guess I'll try backing it off some more, but its annoying because the previous client was totally stable at 149FSB and in my testing on the old client I got about an 8% speed boost in DF going from 146FSB to 147FSB so I really don't wanna go below 147FSB again...oh well. At least it didn't crash overnight again last night!

CS,
if you are running as a service, you can configure the service to re-start on failure and loose very few folds.

I did that for a while, then finally broke down and lowered my FSB one Meg.

Good luck

I think I may have to upgrade to WinXP soon, I'm still running Win98 FE. Right now, its been running without errors for the last 17 hours or so.
