HiYa guyz,
If any of you have the know-how to help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
As you have heard me whine about, sometimes on re-booting my machine DF doesn't get started right. It stays resident in memory and the system has no way of knowing it has stopped so it doesn't get restarted.
When I see this I do the following to get it going again (until the next boot)
1. delete the file c:\distribfold\foldtrajlite.lock
2. open up task manager, select the foldtrajlite.exe process and end it
3. then the OS recognizes the service has stopped and re-starts it after one minute as I selected in the recovery properties of this service.
My question/request:
Is there some kind of batch file or something that I could run, say 5 minutes after windows starts so I could 'automate' this process of ensuring DF is running without any overt action from me (or whoever is using the computer)?
Anyone willing to write it for me and tell me how to apply it?
(note: simply attempting to re-start the service will not work because the failed client is still in memory and XP will just answer the request with "an instance of the service is already running" (even though it isn't))
Thanks in advance
