Hi everyone:
I have a DFI Lanparty MB I purchased here on the for sale forums several months ago, and have just collected enough parts to finish my build. Last night, I got it all together, and when pressing the power button, everything lights up, then shuts down, in approx. a 5 second repetition. (Almost like power goes on, then off). Yanked the board out of the case, hooked up just 1 stick ram, vid card, same thing. Verified a cpu fan was hooked up ( remember a particular board wouldn't boot without this), tried a different power supply, same thing, tried it with no ram, then no vid card, same thing. I then tried disconnecting the 8 pin power connector from the board: then the power on the board/ power supply continued to run. Seems to me like a bad board- I checked all jumper settings, etc. What suck is, I have no record of the trader I had the transaction with, and since it has been several months, I imagine he would tell me I was on my own.
Everyone else agree it sounds like a bad board?
edit: fyi- new E8400, Xigmatek 650 watt PS, New Corsair ram, etc.
