This board should be out sometime in June-July and will of course be dual channel, and support all AGP 8x/4x compatible graphics cards, along with all Socket-939 CPUs.

This board looks great...Alot of users have been looking for this one! Props to DFI for getting this great pic to us!

i sold my 6800gt agp for a pci-e version and got the ut sli-dr. i couldn't see spending money on a new mobo and getting agp.

i wish i could help you. i think i saw AT mention that nf3 and nf4 chipsets are going to be slashed in 1/2 to combat atis foray into the mobo market though. might want to check that out too, it was in one of their computex reports, don't quote me may be worth waiting a bit if thats true.

Ahh ok, Im just wondering if its true .. will they actually release the board its been roughyl stated it would come out in Last year. then...April / 05 .. then May / 05 Now people are saying june?

My asus doesnt overclock at all and im unhappy with it.. even tho it is very stable but i have all the hardware to push it and i cant..

unless someone wanted to buy my Asus a8v dex rev 1.x and bfg 6800 gt oc.

frankly, i'd throw up a fs/ft thread and see what happens. both are still very good components. you'll definitely lose a bit on the 6800gt but the pci-e can be had for 350ish all day long.

i guess it depends on how deep you want to go. the ultra d is pretty cheap lately.

I was waiting for this board but its looking like its really not much better than the Neo 2 I ended up going with other then some slightly higher voltage BIOS settings that you prob won't need to use. With the current lower winnie and venice chips the chip is more likely to hit its ceiling before most OC-friendly boards do.

Edit: Actually, there is one plus for it over the Neo 2: The NB is located below the AGP slot. On the Neo 2 it is right next to it and you would not be able to put a larger passively cooled sink on that board as it would block most video cards. If it comes out around the same price as the neo2 then it would be a good option.

Why not just go for the NF4 version anyways? IMO this board won't sell very well, especially with PCIe becoming more mainstream.

I just found the board I'm going to pair with my upcoming X2

AGP cards are being phased out, but they still have legs. I'm happy enough with my X800 Pro and don't want to spend an additional $300+ on a new PCI-E card that will deliver only slightly better performance than what I have now.

Exactly. I just got a 6800 to go with my Neo 2. This setup will probably take 1 more upgrade(an X2 and 4GB of RAM if I ever need it before its obselete, possibly one more graphics upgrade in ~2 years). After that, its just as obselete as current PCI-E setups and you will prob want a whole new board anyway. Future chipsets ought to provide more PCI-E lanes so we can have more 16x slots and accomodate higher bandwith devices like HD-TV tuners, multiple video cards, and PPUs

Well, the G70 is slated to come out on AGP, so there's one last hurrah. My 6800GT will serve me another good year or so, and then I will be able to get an AGP G70 of some sort as well to go with my X2. With as long as that's going to last, aka1nas is right - everyone will be upgrading their motherboards/cpus/video cards anyways whether you have NF3 or NF4. I will be buying this motherboard.

I am pretty sure that AGP will survive for a few years by moving lower and lower down the product line as PCI has. SO in2 or 3 years they might have a midrange card in AGP that will still be twice as fast as anything now and we can all jump on that.

Do it. I just did the same thing! I bought the A8V Deluxe because I got tired of waiting. Asus is a much better brand anyway.

I just got my DFI SLI-DR and in the brochure it has it listed FYI, if i knew this board was coming out, i woulda waited. Moving from AGP to PCI-E is a pain in the arse

u mean theres no pci-e/agp adapters?? i surely think it exists. everything has an adapter! regardless, i've been wanting this board, but got tired so i ordered the lanparty 250gb. i still have a 939cpu waiting for this one if it ever comes out!!!!
