DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra problem

I just bought a dfi lanparty nfII ultra, an athlon 2800+, and 2sticks of 256mb ocz pc2700 ram also i got a new enermax 430watt whisper psu, and i am having some trouble getting it to work. Whenever i turn on the comp it lights up the 4th led which is the bios checksum? part and if i clear the cmos it will light up the 2nd and 3rd leds instead and if i clear it again it just goes back to the first! i cant get it to go passed it, all the parts are brand new and the ram says its compatible with the mb, does anybody have any ideas as to what might be going on and if there is anything i might be able to try to get it to work? I have a Lan Party NF2 also.

Heres what i think you should try ... clear the CMOS and take everything out except the CPU / RAM / GFX Card , reseat your RAM and power up ... if it still shows the 3rd 4th then your RAM has a problem ... try another if you have 1 .

If it only shows up the 4rth LED then its checking CMOS checksum & battery ... check the battery is seated right and mabye replace the battery because , once i left my CMOS jumper in clear CMOS and it drained my battery .

Also just for the sake of it if none of that works check that you CPU & CPU Fan are ok and all fitted and plugged in properly ... i dont know how many times i ve forgot to plug the CPU fan in and then wondered why my PC wont start

yeah i gave all that a try, i through some other pc2700 sticks in there and still it would do the same thing, i also took the cpu out and put it back in and nothing, so i just rma'd the board and ram and should be gettin the replacement back hopefully it will work.

I hope you get it all sorted ... cause the NF2 Lan Party is a great board for both normal and overclocking.

I think apart from my 8RDA+ its the best board i have .. I put it on equal with that

I have 2 Lan Party Boards NF2 & 875PRO .

They both setup like a dream ... and both overclock like a dream , dont forget these boards were made with PC enthusiasts in mind .... not to mention the major kickass quality package you get with them , long jumpers rounded cables , Front X , carry case strap etc .

name me another board that comes close ?

Always been wrong? I think not. Up till recently DFI was trash (IMO). Their new boards may be good, just like how EPoX used to be trash and now they're good.

DFI = Dumb F*cking Investment.. IMO.

i disagree that they have been crappy all the time before the LP series. I remember in Orlando, we must have built over 100 machines using the DFI slotA and original socketA boards. They were never intended to be overclocker or enthusiast boards, but they were (and still are!) some rock solid boards that I've never had an issue with. I'd say 95% of the machines we built (98% of them were for businesses no doubt) are still in good working order (only had to replace 2 that I can remember).

everyone is entitled to an opinion for sure. But your opinion is a bit of immature attitude, which of course you are welcome to shout to anyone who will listen. With Anandtech and almost every other review site disagreeing with you, I can honestly say that you are just spouting and have no real cause other than to make yourself heard. Again this is fine, but I am very proud to work for this company as I have one of almost every board they have made since the KT400A LanParty came out, and nary a problem with any of them, and all are excellent performers (especially the I875/I875B!).
