Anyone got this board? is it any good? It seems a little expensive considering you can get any one of the first tier mobos for the same price! It does however have the intel network chip with CSA if that matters.I'm still searching for the right 875 board sigh!:frown: I just can't make up my mind. I guess I'm fickle. I need more reviews with at least a gig of DDR3500.

I have this board. I originally thought that the board was bad because it was unstable in dual ddr mode, but it turns out that one of my sticks of xms3200 is bad. so far I have only used it with a 1.6a and the bios will only let you go up to 132 fsb and memory stays locked at 266. I also tried a gigabyte 8ik1100 and it let me oc the 1.6a to 142fsb, but memory was 200. I believe that there will be a 165 fsb limit like on some of the other boards for 533fsb processors. I think all canterwood boards will pretty much be the same when you use a true 800fsb processor. I will be getting a 2.4c either today or by the end of the week, so I will let you know how well that works out.

well got some news for whoever's interested. the highest the fsb can be overclocked using a natural 800fsb processor is 255. the vcore on this board goes up to +350. so using a 2.4c the highest oc you can attain at this time is 3.06ghz

so far seems stable.

That's really impressive! Can you list the BIOS options for us? Like v-core, memory voltage, FSB adjustment, etc
Btw what kind of memory are you running @ FSB 255? That's like 510Mhz DDR!! or are you running Async mode with a 5:4 or 3:2 divider?
Also where did you get the 2.4C???? I have been searching for the 2.4c and the 2.8c on Pricewatch but I couldn't find anything available.

tommy2cool, did you get your p4 2.4 800 from atacom? i noticed that they list p4 2.4 800, p4 2.6 800, p4 2.8 800, and p4 3.0 800. not sure if they have them, but they are orderable. i just went ahead and ordered a p4 2.6 800. we'll see if it'll deliver.

the DFI PRO875 uses an award bios. most of the overclocking options are in a section called "genie bios"

FSB: max up to 255 for fsb 800 cpu, max up to 132 for fsb 400 cpu. not sure what fsb 533 cpu limit will be..I'm guessing 165.

memory settings available for fsb 800 cpu are 266, 320, 400. for a fsb400, only 266 is available for fsb 400

vcore: about 5-6 choices all the way up to +.350. on the box of my 2.4c, it says max vcore 1.52. according to the bios, my cpu has a default vcore of 1.48

vdimm: 1.6, 1.7
vagp: 2.5, 2.6

pci can be locked at 66 or set on auto, whatever that means

there is an option to autodetect pci clock

lots of memory tweaking options typical of an award bios.

there seems to be a bug with temps. I get a reading of 20c for cpu and 30 for sys temp. and this is while I am at 3.06ghz!! I'm using an alpha + one of those coolermaster fans with 4 leds. the heatsink barely got warm to the touch running 3dmark 2k1. seems stable so far. I scored 16000 points with a 9700pro without tweaking anything. but this is with ONLY 1 stick of ram.

the board layout is very nice. the 12v plug is on the *right hand* side of the cpu. also there are 4 very bright diagnostic LEDs, and standby LEDs for both PCI and DIMMs. there is also a convenient power on switch and reset switch on the mainboard.

overall, I like this board a lot. it looks very cool and has lots of nice little features. the only downfall is the 255 fsb limit which only will be a problem with people trying to get high overclocks with a 2.4c. hopefully dfi will release a bios that will raise the fsb limit

oh and I got my 2.4c from gamepc.com. they have all the northwood c variants but they are charging more than everyone else. my 2.4c cost $240!!

if you are in the bay area, you can order it and pick it up the same day like I did!

That is what the 5:4 and 3:2 mem ratio is for. You have to give up a little mem BW for a whole lot of FSB and CPU MHz. Its a small tradeoff for big gains.

just spoke to atacom regarding the p4 2.6 800 processor i ordered. they do have it in stock, but apparently intel is recalling all 800mhz cpus, and it'll be another week before the new ones are in stock. they could've just sold me the "recalled" cpu, but obviously they advised against that and told me that i would be on top of the list when the new ones come in.

tommy2cool, you might want to check with gamepc to make sure that your processor is not being recalled.

I doubt there is a recall. if there were intel would have said something by now and it would be in the news or at least the inquirer would have some blurb about a recall.

not sure what the situation is. i was just quoting atacom. it seems like a decently reputable place. but obviously i couldn't really find any other place with p4 2.6 800

DFI 875P board benchmarked better than top 3 motherboard manufacturer¡¦s similar solutions. I got the benchmarks comparison table through non-official channel. I am surprised with the performance of DFI LANPARTY PRO875. I removed the model name. You can easily find the model name from individual website. It¡¦s a shame that they test the boards with AGP4X display card with the similar peripherals that Toms Hardware used. But it is still a good reference. I was also told that there might be BIOS to be release the FSB to higher limit earlier next week when I call their FAE in Taiwan. It¡¦s great since I owned one DFI 875P board already. I will be able to start the overclock journey as soon as they post the BIOS on their web site. I might be able to receive the message since this board provides BIOS Live Update feature. With so many valuable accessories, it is still a good deal though the price is not low.

I suggest you watching their Beta Site since DFI always posts new BIOS on Beta Site before it is officially released.

I have this board and I have to admit, I was disappointed at first, but that has changed. Since there has been no reviews on this board, I'm going to try and list my experiences with it.

What's in the bag:
Awesome package for the money. You get a 2 IDE UV sensitve round cables, 1 Floppy UV sensitive round cable, face plate, a harness for your case, huge lan party sticker (tacky I think), Win DVD software, SPDIF in and out.

What I liked:
Awesome looking board. Orange and black looks very nice under UV light. CSA gigabit is very FAST, SPDIF out for dolby digital works perfect on my receiver, raid 1.5, overclocked nicely a P4b 2.4ghz running at 2.7ghz stable w/ stock voltage (512x2 in dual channel mode). Super bright diagnostic LEDs, goes great with UV black light.

What I didn't like:
Crappy plastic thingy that holds the AGP card in the slot, you have to push on it to get the card out (unnecessary). VERY unstable with AIW Radeon 9700pro with 3.2 drivers (locks up in 3d mode every 3 seconds into the game). Interestingly, 3.1 drivers works fine. Not sure if this is an issue with the ATI drivers or the board itself, but ATI is best known for their unpolished drivers.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the board so far. The DFI radar utility works pretty well, updated the bios via Windoze with no problems.

If anyone else here has experience with this board, please post. I don't know why there has not been a review of this board anywhere on the internet.

you know, when I first got this board, I was really disappointed because of the FSB limit. but now the DFI is looking really good because it seems like all the other CW boards have major issues. the only bad thing about this board is the 255 FSB limit

what is your vid card.....so your not having any problems with it?
Even tho i'm not a big overclocker, i heard you cannot overclock the p4 2.4C with the board becuz of that limit. Why?
I don't know much about the new PC's, i'm on a p3 450 @ 504 overclocked haha

I have a radeon 9700 pro, and I'm not having any problems. this board is stable at FSB 250 = 3.0ghz, DDR 400.

it is true that 533 cpus are limited to 165 FSB and 400 FSB cpus are limited to 132FSB. but whats the point of getting a canterwood board without an 800 FSB cpu? you dont get to use PAT so you might as well just settle for an 865 board instead.

btw the UV effect of this board is stunning. this is easily the best looking board I've ever seen.
