DFI Lanparty UT 250 Overclocking

Hello, i dont know much about overclocking. I know you have to increase the FSB Freq. in Genie BIOS...but when i increase it past 222mhz it doesnt boot. (just keeps restarting) here is my system:

DFI Lanparty UT nF3 250Gb
AMD 64 2800+ stock cooling @ 1.8, OC'd to 2.0ghz but cant get higher
768 Kingston VALUE ram
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO
Samsung 160GB HDD

The proc idles at 36c and 50c is full load.

I have seen this proc with this board oc'd to 2.6ghz...what am i doing wrong????

You need to drop your Hypertransport frequency/multiplier to 600/3x and your memory frequency to a setting that leaves it running in-spec. A really rough way to calculate your memory clock is to divide your HTT by 200 and multiply it by whatever Dram clock you are using. Example. If your HTT is at 240 and your DRAM frequency is set to 166MHz(DDR333) then divide 240 by 200 (the original HTT) and multiply that by 166. This will give you a 199.2MHz (DDR398, which is close enough to 400 to not make a difference). Are you using a SATA harddrive? I think ports 1 and 2 are not locked on that mobo, so you'd need to use 3 and 4.

hey i've got a similar system and i dont know what to tell you. i am running stock bios and i get 2.2 easy, if i up the vcore i can get it past 2.3 although i havent tried much higher than that. with that ram are you running on a divider? do you have your HT below 800mhz? what bios version are you running?

How do i bump the vcore? if i change ANY voltage, say +.008v i get no boot. Ill look into the HT thing and let you know.

And what is the CPU VID? if i change that, the system doesnt boot and i have to clear the CMOS. Is this the vcore?
