Heh...forgot about the single chip solution ...
Still yet The ULi 1575 chip was a temporary solution until the 600 becomes ready as ATI's 450 gave lackluster performance in USB performance and ULi's USB solution in that area has alway been crippled ...
Only reason outside of ULi's sound solution I see why NVidia bought them out was to secure it's position as ULi has always been Graphics area dependent and has little to offer NVidia while ATi's smallest NB chipset was catching the OCing eyes community...
Hopefully NVidia will chose to improve it chipset with ULi's 7.1 HD Azalia audio on the AMD side of things as the NForce4 chipset does not have the necessary hooks for HD audio support no matter what type of Soundstorm speculation there has been in the past...They've already added it to the Intel's NForce4 roadmap
Didn't I read somwhere that ATI are due to ship the SB600 chips in time for the ULi chip withdrawal but only for AM2?
For those manufacturers using the ULi South Bridge, Patti Mikula, ATI Public Relations states: "ULi has committed to ATI and the manufacturers that the supply of ULi chips will not be interrupted."
ATI was unaware of the NVidia/ULi talks and as long as the SB600 chip is not delayed all will be presumably well.
