I just turned it on at 200x11 and still have my ram speeds at stock and all like that...

Heres what WCPUID says

Ram is 2.5/3/3/8 vdimm=stock

vcore1.6
fsb = 200.5
DDR = 400.9

Whats the next step? i'm at 38C under prime 95 stress test "Blend"

My ram is buffalo PC3200 512x2
Board is DFI LP 2

3200+ isn't enough for ya? If your ram can do more, you can slowly push the FSB more; otherwise, if you feel your CPU can give you more, slowly raise the multiplier.

i'm not really sure how to determine either.... I was basically wanting to top out at what anandtech made on their setup....

Ram should get you to about 210 (420 ddr), if you want to keep that awesome load temp don't raise your voltage and go for max clock at 1.6v.

38*C under load??? What kinda cooling you got, water? :Q

Otherwise, start slowly raising that FSB more.. :evil:

well if i go temporrally to the higher voltages in search of max OC, and then i go back to the standard voltage at 3200+... will i return to my awesome temp? or am i going to permenantly change something.....

My goal is to maxx this system out at least a few times.. but i'll prob play at the settings i find stable at default voltage...

So help me do a few things here

1. Max out CPU / FSB timings
2. Once that is done, i believe it is time to mess with ram vdimms and such and timings...

This morning i woke up and it had failed prime 95 at 200x11 after 10 hours and 38 minutes... i thought it was easilly stable at these speeds.....

Try bumping up the voltage a little bit. See if that does it.

come on guys... help me out here

Also umm I wasnt running my ram in dual channel mode before, so i switched and put one in number 3 slot so i am dual now...

The last error i got at 10:38 was a ROUNDING error... .5 instead of less than .4

Had the same problem. Had to bump the voltage a little bit. Prime 95 stable for 24 hours now.

another update.... after running 6 hours more at 200x11 I am currently max load MAX temp at 36C with average 34-35C internal case temp is 26C....

This is amazing for air cooled.. think i got my fan situation right

I've read the Anand review, and the Barton 2500 should easily be able to do 2200Mhz @ stock voltages.

www.angrygames.com <---- there is my NF2 LanParty @ 200x10. Notice that the chipset voltage is maxed to 1.9v. If you are same person that sent me the email, please check your email hehe.

what IS your cooling?

up that fsb! the multiplier! the voltage! what are you waiting for timid tim!

generally you up the speed until its obviously unbootable, then you back down until its stable.

I have a ys tech adjustable 80 mm strapped to an SLK800A..

I am going to raise my chipset voltage to 1.9 next and then work on moving the fsb up again a little bit.

i'm thinking you have one of those m/b that misreports the temp by 10c. i have an slk 800 and 92mm zalman fan and i don't get anywhere near that low..45-50c is my range.

I might have to agree. Unless your ambient temp is extremely low (maybe a Igloo in the outshirts of Alaska) or you have some nice water cooling setup, 38C under load is amazing for a OCed Barton...

Heres my total setup for cooling so ya'll know.....

2 80mm Enermax fans at the front 2 at the rear

YS tech adjustable cpu fan

Old alienware Antec Case

Using Motherboard Monitor to see temps as well as the nvidia hardware monitor thing

ROOM TEMPERATURE is... 22C

All voltages are STOCK
FSB = 200x11

I can concur with slash, I've just put together the DFI Ultra-AL with this:

Barton2500 AQDEA 200x11 @ 2200Mhz 1.675v
1x512MB PC3200 GEIL (blue shield) 6-3-3-2.5 @ 2.7v
80GB 8MB WD SE hdd
SK-7 + Thermaltake SmartFan1
Maxtop 147KG2F-USB w/2x80mm above cpu in back, 1x80mm in front (with faceplate drilled!), 1x92mm on top, 1x92mm on side blowing in.

Ambient (case) temp: 30°C

Idle cpu: 32°C - 35°C

Prime95 load: 40°C - 43°C

i imagine if my ambient temps were 22°C then I'd be hitting about the same temps as Slash =) (this is using a probe, not the onboard sensor!)

lol no, i think its more like we have cool ambient temps and excellent airflow in the case (plus a good cpu cooler!)
