I believe Happy_Games posted a not so nice message in one of the Intel motherboard threads, saying that DFI was goign downhill, and was firing most of the North America support staff. Soon after, the post was deleted, and DFI Street went down for a while. It came up briefly, and then now is down again with a message saying they have split with DFI on the front page.

So uhh...

What is DFI Street? Is it an official or unofficial part of DFI?

It was an official part of DFI. Happy_Games (originally Angry_Games) and RGON were supposed to be DFI employees hired to do support for them on the forums. It sounds like DFI pulled the plug, and now Happy_Games is looking for advertising dollars and/or a new company to endorse.

That's what you get when you talk bad about the people who gave you your spotlight.

I seriously doubt Happy really posted anything bad about DFI...nothing bad enough to shut down the website at least imho..if you could prove otherwise then I might believe you...I have been frequenting DFI-Street for over 2 years (was an early adopter of the Lanparty nForce4) and it has definitely been the most helpful overclocking site on the web. Without it, I seriously doubt I would be sitting here with a 900mhz overclock after a mere 5 bios boots.

All I've gleaned from that place is that you need a 700W PSU (brand doesn't matter) to work with your DFI board.

he did in fact post pretty much flaming and warning consumers that DFI were cutting back on support in the US and that he was worried for his job. That comment pushed DFI taiwant to fire him. Yes he bit the hand that feeds him but JAckie the orginator of the LanParty series was also fired. He wanted more support for DFI boards from Taiwan but they weren't willing to give it to him especially on the ULI southbridge issues.

Basically he said that the people in Taiwan don't know jack sh1t about support and that they think they know more about it than him. He mentioned that most people in the DFI North america branch know almost nothing about overclocking. I believe he mentioned like 6 or 4 people work there. I know there's RGone, Travis, Jackie. So both Jackie and Trabis were fired. Jackie came with Oskar I believe over from Abit. Rgone is still there I believe. He also said 1 barely spoke english.

He also insulted Oscar saying he uses cherry picked hardware.

I never knew about that site and I got my X2 3800+ to 2.6Ghz with my first try and it was 24/7 stable with my DFI Lanparty UT SLI-D

Yes DFI-Street is now DIY-Street.com . I have worked with Travis for a few years and still have no idea exactly what happened. Anyhow, DIY-Street has all of the old information and has expanded to cover other brands and Home Theater PC's as well. They have dropped a few of the rules, like requiring a signature. Things are looking pretty good.
