Please please please, although this feels dirty being in the console gaming section.

It's actually very good on console though. Honestly like it better than clicking my mouse button a billion times lol. The addition of a dodge mechanic is cool too. The real downside is magic casting being much more precise with the mouse and very limited control on the PS4 or Xbox controller.

I tried it out on console, and I really don't care for it.

1. Diablo III for the PS4 adds a PS4-exclusive creature set for Rifts based on The Last of Us. These creatures are some of the worst and arguably horribly balanced that I've ever come across. In doing research on the console vs. PC differences, one thing that was noted was making the console avoid having enemies attack from off screen; however, the Last of Us enemies attack from off-screen with wanton regard. Not to mention the one enemy creates this huge AoE damage pools and seems to be capable of creating an infinite number of them. It's like fighting five Ghoms at the same time except these Ghoms are far faster at throwing the pools out.

2. Ranged targeting mechanics are really bad. The way that console Diablo III works for ranged targeting is that whatever enemy you're facing is the one that you'll target (it will show at the top center of the screen). Consequently, any targeted AoE or ranged attacks will always focus this target. This is serviceable in small encounters, but it's absolute chaos when fighting large groups.

One thing that came to mind for me is that I play Necromancer a lot at high GR levels on PC, and that it would be nearly impossible to do that on console. The problem is that Necromancers become the epitome of glass cannons, and at about GR80, I will die from just about any ranged attack. What makes this really messy for me is that there is one enemy type that is pure hell for me to run into: the ghost. Excluding the PS4-exclusive enemies, the ghosts are probably some of the worst enemies in the game. Ghosts have absolutely no clipping rules and have an insane leash distance that is made worse by the fact that since walls can't stop them, it's incredibly easy for them to keep within distance for them to stay aggro'd. It's even worse because ghosts use a ranged, channeled attack that deals a decent amount of damage. When I'm in high-level GRs, I have to actively target these enemies the instant I see them, or I will die. How do I do this on console when they're mixed into the group?

3. There doesn't appear to be an option to break down specific item rarities at the Blacksmith. Maybe I'm missing it, but that's a huge problem at high levels as you may pick up a few rare or superior items, and you'd rather just destroy them quickly. On PC, you have buttons to do this, but you don't on PC. Ultimately, I find that the entire UI is just not as good as it is on PC, and it's somewhat understandable why.

The vast majority of my D3 time has been PS3/PS4 couch co-op and enjoyable despite imperfections... except for this. Any time we run into one of these garbage TLoU levels we just run for the exit as quickly as we can. They're awful.

Co-op is the one thing that I can't really assess... well, for understandable reasons. But it does make things a bit easier for people wanting to play together. Although, I wonder if it makes certain things harder? For example, when doing the 4-minute T13 rift, you can send someone back to town as the rift guardian is nearing death or spawns (depending on how fast they'll die). While not necessary, it can help increase your chance of making the time limit. However, I assume the console version doesn't have split camera views, which means one player can't leave the other?

Correct, for couch co-op.

Diablo 3 pc vs console might as well be different games. Console is such a more relaxed couch co-op affair compared to the more frenetic bullet hell style that pc can be at higher level rifts.

Please tell me you mean a billion times over the course of a decade and that you're not one of those people who click 500 times just to move your character out of the Rogue Encampment. I played D2 for over a decade straight and rose to the top for all the USWest Non Ladder services (PvP, Grushes, Crushes, Uber Trist leveling, Dclone Hunting, key hunting, and even hosted countless tournaments with the help of the mods from JSP) and I doubt I ever reached anywhere near one million clicks on my mice.

Diablo 3 is way better on console because you can play it offline. I have two copies (PS4 and X1) and none on PC.

Very exciting, not sure why it's in the console section though, 75% of the games users will be on PC but at least its been posted. Sorry if I am popping anybody's bubble when i say this but Blizzard is hiring people currently for a new "shooter" game. Diablo 4 doesn't seem like the kind of game that will have guns.

Blizzard posted a video on their Facebook page that noted there are multiple projects in the works. They also stated that they'll have things to show off by the end of the year, which means we're likely to see them at BlizzCon later this year. A note that some will take longer than others is likely referring to a full-fledged Diablo sequel (e.g. Diablo IV), and possibly also smaller projects like a Diablo II remaster. (I'd personally prefer Diablo II over the original.)

I don't expect Diablo 4 anytime soon, but definitely interested to see what they come up with. Hope the PC version includes controller support though and same system co-op.

I'd love for them to combine Diablo 1 and 2. Have the first one be like a tutorial/intro (that you only have to play once, but can then go back to anytime), and then have it open up to Diablo 2. Or maybe just have some end game endless dungeon where you chase Diablo through the original game.

I just want either D3 or D4 to come to the Switch. With 1 & 2 being so PC focused I don't think it's smart to force gamepad controls on the first two games, but I want a diablo 3 switch port something awful.
