Diablo III release date: Feb 1st, 2012?

As I mentioned above after reading joystiq's updates, the whole thing still sounds fake to me. Only 1 best buy created this sign? How would they even do this, do they have a printing press in the back of the store? And where are the other pictures of this sign? I've only seen the one pic (although the uploader claims to have uploaded more). Regardless I guess there is no point questioning it, either joystiq is making stuff up or best buy is making signs on their own. Ultimately best buy got owned because they came off looking like idiots whether the sign is real or not.

So I show up 11.11.11 and ask to pay the remainder of my balance and they said that they had sold all the copies of PC skyrim. I asked what the pre-order was for then and they just said sorry.

I'm never buying anything at best buy again. Granted, this is just one incident, but make sure they know not to sell your game to some other bloke who happens to wander in release day.

I also think this release date is fake. Blizz is still working some pretty big changes into the game.

Make that two incidents.

I pre-ordered Forza Motorsport 4 (Limited Collector's Edition) at Best Buy. (I only pre-ordered the game at Best Buy for their exclusive pre-order bonus. Otherwise, I stay away from Best Buy like the plague!) I decided to take the afternoon off work on release day to play the game, so I got to Best Buy around noon.

Although they claim they got ~15 copies of the Limited Collector's Edition, only one was left on the shelf. NONE had been held for pre-orders! They would have sold my copy - the last one they had - to anyone who strolled into the store. My pre-order meant nothing, except a way for them to earn interest off my money.

I spoke with the manager who really didn't understand my complaint. He just kept reminding me that I did get my copy. Yes, I got my copy, but only because I happened to take time off work to beat the rush. It was dumb luck, no thanks to their terrible company. His reply to that is that I could have bought one of the many standard edition copies off the shelf, which he said are "really the same thing".

Yes, this release date is fake. If a real release date was leaked for a game this anticipated there is no way it would have been this quiet. My best guess is early June... but I'm probably way off.

Best Buy only cares about the money, whoever shows up with all of the money first. I'm not saying I think what they did is right, just saying, they're all about the benjamins

It will all happen in game, with an in game interface built for a console.

Personally, I'm not going to hold my breath for anything short of November, and maybe not until next year. I think the decision to port it to console is going to set it back at least that long.

I was gonna say that Blizzard would have a official announcement for launch, and commercials running, atleast 3months in advance of it launching.

We dont have any of those things yet, so launch is atleast 4+ months away going by this rule. Even then I think launch date if futher off.

I remember when SC2 came out Target had a whole end-cap completely filled, no one buying. But plenty of folks crying about how Gamestop and Walmart sold out immediately.

Hard to go wrong w/ Amazon. They often have a 10 dollar post purchase credit too. Amazon gets a great deal of my disposable $$$. I only go to BB if I have a coupon or there is a sale (for instance, got BLOPS for 15 bucks on Black Friday).

When the last COD game came out i went to pic it up at gamesptop. I asked for a pc copy and the guy told me they did not even get any. Target was the same story. I ended up have to goto the yellow tag store to get it. Which is a bit of a drive.
Next time i am going to preorder anything i want on launch day if its pc. All the kiddies play on PS3 and 360 these days.

IDk about dumbing down but they have done that in wow for freeking forerver, you can dissable the super detailed tooltops as well, some things like that only happen in the opening tutoral part as well

D2 also had lil mouse indicators for which button the 2 main spells were on
