i normally would not buy an off brand power supply, however, i could not find much information about them, who manufactures them, and their power supplies were not completely cheap (usually a bad sign).
i bought the following matx power supply for use in a lan rig:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...01&Tpk=diablotek%20380
after testing, i came to the following conclusion: it is grossly overrated.
using a kill a watt meter, i measured 330watts maximum cpu burn, which stayed on, but power supply test (using occt) failed when the kill a watt hit 349 watts... assuming maximum stated efficiency (highly unlikely), internal component consumption was 268 upon failure. this power supply also weighs less than a 300 watt in win OEM supply that came with a case.
it did power on. the sleeved cables are nice. cable length is average. the power cable and cpu power cable could be longer.
i'm posting this up so other will have something to reference.
