these are basically rebadges midiland s2 4100. ask anybody who owns a set, they are MUCH better sounding than the klipsch promedia at decent volumes. sure, they dont go up to jackhammer/concrete drill volumes but do you actually need all that much power? for me these do just fine... much smoother sound and rich mids. the only thing is this is a 2.1 setup as opposed to the klipsch which is 4.1...

I have the Diamond 4100 system at home and it rocks. There is nothing better for playing quake3 and CounterStrike with.

if these deal is still on, go get em alrady!
Lewmar: the only 'multimedia' speakers that would beat the 4100 are only the siroccos. most people think their klipsch promedias are so great cuz they never seen the 4100s. their loss.

These thing suck compared to the klipsch. You only get 2 sat speakers. I need to have the full sourrund sound effect and more than anything I would rather have the Boston Acoustic 7500 For clarity and Midiland S4 8200 for DVD. Over all the klipsch Are the best for POWER And BASS. The ultimate set would be in micheals words My dream system would have the clarity of 7500, the bass of Klipsch, and the AC-3 sound from 8200 !! Well any ways best of luck!!

how do you know if they suck? RMS wattage doesnt tell you everything. in fact, 4100s sound better than the 8200s. 8200s dont even have tweeters in them. i know my 4100s sound better than klipsh promedia cuz we did a side by side comparison in my old dorm. the guy who owned klipsch himself wasnt too impressed by the klipsch when it comes to music. he loved it for gaming, but mine does it just as well if not better. how many of you could/would actually crankin it all the way up to jackhammer level volumes? what i really think you should have is well balanced and sound rich in mids without overexaggerated bass at a comfortably loud level. to each his own.

The klipsch don't have a problem with music Its placement. The speakers don't mesh well with the sub if your have them close to you on your desk Personally i have mine mounted on the wall, the midrange is fine. The bass if adjusted correctly(default setting) is not over emphasised. Its just fine. I didn't buy them for the rms or insane bass or volume levels. They just sound good.

I heard that the Klipsch have massively over-exagerrated bass, and no midrange. From what I understand, the best application of horn-loaded tweeters is air raid sirens. They are normally only used to fill a huge space, like a stadium.

yea..i just recieved my klipsch speakers...the reason some people feel more bass than others is probably because of the design of the room and the placement of the subwoofer. either way, the sub is awesome even though i do believe it is somewhat exaggerated

Its probably bad placement or adjustment. With that kind of power it is very easy to go over board. Also about the horn tweeters, they work just fine, just don't have them 3 feet from your head, thats probably the problem with some setups. Beleive me, the midrange is there. I've rearranged friends setups and to their surprise, their speakers sound great when they were complaining before.

You say "just don't put them 3 feet from your head". No offense, but where else would they go? It would seem that the obvious place for computer speakers is on the desk in front of you, 3 feet from your head. I know that the horn tweeter is Klipsch's trade mark, but it just seems to be ill suited to this application. In a home theater situation, I can understand buying special stands and taking great care with the placement of your speakers to best compliment the acoustic properties of the room, but with computer speakers, 99% of users just want to plonk them on the desk. You would think that manufacturers would design them to work best when used in this way...

Very well said lewmar, not bad for a junior

Anyway, I would also agree with Brotherman since I have heard both. One of my friends recently went with the promedias and the other went with the Midiland 4100's. In music I think the 4100's do a better job of the mid and high range sound. I didn't get a chance to compare them side by side but all I can say is that to my ears the Midiland (diamond) sound better for music. For games they are about even. That doesn't mean the Promedias are bad, because they are better than most speakers out there but my ears liked the Midiland's(diamond) more.

From the looks of this http://www.3dsoundsurge.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000856.htmlthe Midiland 8200's are..OK sounding. I kind of like the look of them, not the usual computer grey, although again you have to consider that the (front) sats will probably sit next to your monitor, and the sub is typically hidden under the desk, so maybe computer grey is the best color?

I'd take the 4100's over the Klipsch's ANY day ... how can you even compare the two in terms of sheer quality?

Seems that Diamond have sold out of 4100's in black. Only a few white ones left.
