Purchased new in 8/00 and has been working fine until recently. Now when I try to connect using ms explorer, the led's for ON light, but the OH stays lit for 2 secs then goes off. The dial up connection goes as follows:
Dialing
Failed to connect to remote computer
No Dial tone. Make sure the modem is currently connected to the computer
and ph. lines.
After this the phone line stays off hook until I disconnect the line from
the modem.
I checked the modem diagnostics (under More Info):

Tried on both my computers and same result. Emailed Diamond's Legacy support and only got a canned response:
"Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for contacting SONICBlue(tm).
If you feel the product is defective, you can send the product in for
warranty testing and/or replacement. In order to create a Return Merchandise
Authorization for your product please include the following in your
response: ...."
Didn't feel like going this route since it's been so long since the purchase. Any ideas?
