Windows XP has a software bridge. Just select both the homepna and the ethernet device right click and bridge. Your homepna machines will now have access to your ethernet machines.
That would be cool except for having to have the bridge machine up and online all the time.
Panasonic used to have an HPNA/Ethernet router that could be used as a bridge, I forget the model # though, but it was around $100.
An 802.11b setup would be better in instances where you want a totally wireless connection like on a laptop, so you can carry it around to any room or even out on the back deck and still have your network/internet connection without having to plug in anything.
For desktop computers that never move, HPNA sounds like a good idea to me.
