maybe she has been in charge of the White House's debt limit strategy, this is all starting to make sense.

If replacements can be filibustered how does ANYONE manage to get seated?

Yeah, they'd just all filibuster each other and there'd be no committees and nothing would get done. Then we might as well just get rid of it.

Actually that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Long as she points it at Republicans, good shoot. Just make it members of the Senate Judiciary Committee then we can replace her.

Woah... ignoring the gun thing, she looks pretty bad. My dad is 93 and he doesn't look half that bad and we had to take away dads drivers license. Surely democrats should take away Diane's drivers license, then she couldn't get to the senate. Her appearance, I'm shocked. Forget about term limits, how about death limits. Once a senator appears to have physically passed away, remove them. She doesn't need her senate seat, Diane needs a good embalmer.

So now you advocate the shooting of Republicans?

Or is it only white Republicans?

Since it’s completely legal to discriminate based on political affiliation…why not shoot all of them?

Regarding the discussion about what happens with the Judiciary Committee if she retires, here's Hillary Clinton saying Feinstein should not retire because republicans would fillibuster any attempt to replace her on the committee.

Pretty sure that HRC, who served in the Senate herself, knows full well how it works.

That said, man, she really does look terrible and by rights she ought to be retired by now. It's only the shittiness of republicans that is making it such a difficult thing.

The republicans are preventing her from retiring now. She should have retired decades ago and it wouldn't be an issue today.

Did they also prevent RBG from retiring?

If you need someone to blame, place it on the heads of the people that think they are too important to retire. Diane (89 Years Old) and RBG (87 Years Old).

I think the hate on RBG is unwarranted. Diane should have retired. RBG did not think America was full of enough shitty people to vote in Trump, but you and your party proved her wrong. Also, Mitch blocked a SC justice from Obama from being confirmed, so it's not like if she retired in the last couple of years of the OBama administration your shitty party would have stolen that seat too, because y'all are scum.

I appreciate some of the worst things Dems do is maybe not retire on time, vs being horrific fascist nationalists like your party.

Oh so just handwave the childish tactics of the Republicans. I expect no less from you.
Yes she should have retired. But she shouldn't be held hostage because of republicans being shitty.

Both of those can be true.

I don't disagree that Feinstein should at the very least should not have run in 2018, and it's even possible that she wouldn't retire now even if republicans stepped aside on the committe issue. Because she isn't right in the head. But the GOP is shitty to take advantage of that situation, because a physically infirm, and possibly mentally incompetent person, should not be in the Senate. It isn't in the interests of the American public.

So yes, I do blame her as an individual (and RBG as well) for not being willing to step down when the time was right. But I also blame republicans as a party for consistently putting party before country. It's hardly just this issue. It's everything they do these days. It's all about cynical power politics, and lies. There is little else in the GOP anymore.

Can we please just end lifetime appointments and put an age cap on federal positions and end these arguments already?

Ending lifetime appointments, yes. Unfortunately we can't have an age cap on federal elected positions because the Constitution already has a minimum age requirement, with no maximum. So Congress trying to add that in would be held unconstitutional, probably by judges on both ends of the political spectrum. So if we really want that, unfortunately we'll have to amend the Constitution first.

I didn't hate on "RBG".

Only stated the truth that she should have retired decades ago before she died and when the Dems could have replaced her with one of their own. Even the Democrats were bitching about her not retiring.

Proponents of her retirement argued that a strategic decision for the Democrats, who held the Senate majority until 2014, would include the chance to confirm another liberal justice on the court.

She isn't being held hostage. What you should have said was the childish tactics of Politicians. You could have some compassion as the Democrats are taking advantage of elderly and disabled people in the likes of Feinstein and Fetterman.

Recent statement from Feinstein:

On Tuesday, she spoke to reporters briefly while in an elevator. Slate reports that, when one reporter asked how her Senate colleagues had welcomed her back, Feinstein responded, "No, I haven't been gone. You should follow the—I haven't been gone. I've been working."

Asked if she meant she had been working from home, Feinstein told the reporter: "No, I've been here. I've been voting. Please — You either know or don't know."

This speaks for itself:

Just a few quotes from you:

"She isn't right in the head"

"A physically infirm, and possibly mentally incompetent person, should not be in the Senate."

"It isn't in the interest of the American public."

So you agree that she should be removed from office for the sake of putting the Country above Party, Right?

IF the Democrats were putting Country Before Party then Feinstein and Fetterman would both be removed from office in a nice way as neither are capable of doing the job required of them.

But instead you want to blame it on the GOP.

I'd argue getting judges through the Judicial committee is in the interest of the country considering how many vacancies there are.

And what's wrong with Fetterman?

He's got a speech/hearing issue that is a result of his stroke. It's not a cognitive impairment. Which is evident when he uses a text translator.

The last time I heard him speak he sounded like someone putting random words together.

There are many examples. And see the image above.
