Ehh ... Dice has been goin downhill since Battlefield 1942 IMO.
BF1942 Demo was fvcking awesome, it was pretty much legendary.
BF1942 full came out, and was great, but, essentially same thing as the demo... just more maps.
Desert Combat was awesome though, and all the mods really gave BF1942 lots of staying power.
BF Vietnam came out, initially lots of balance issues, but they worked the bugs out and it turned out to be a pretty awesome game. AI was a lot better, so if I played with a small group of friends, we would have some semi less retarded human targets on both sides to make things more interesting.
BF2 was good, but, IMO, the interface was clunky compared to the predacessors, and it took too long to load things. Sure the graphics were a bit better, and some of the maps were cool, but, IMO, it wasn't 2 steps forward 1 step back.
Bad Company 2 came out, and sure it looks good, but.... it really pissed me off. Couldn't figure out how to start up a multiplayer server to play online with a small group of friends, also there didn't seem to be any 64 player servers, seemed like less likely to find mods for it too... pretty much everything good about battlefield series was pulled out, and instead, replaced with some consolized garbage....
