This is probably most accurate. BF3 is Dice's chance to redeem themselves and show they're relevant again. Everything looks on track so far, but it really is too early to call.
Seriously. BF2 had absurd problems with dolphin diving essentially from day one, and every patch they put out made the game worse.
And people are too quick to toot Blizzard's horn. Everyone has completely forgotten exactly how messy WoW launch was, don't seem to acknowledge Blizzard's often ham-fisted and illogical class balancing in WoW even to this day, and SC2 still has fairly serious balance issues.
My favorite are Valve, Blizzard, DICE, and Bioware.
I also really liked Bioshock but I don't remember who made that game (2K I think).
I know no one wants to hear this but on consoles I really like Naughty Dog for the Uncharted series, pretty much the only reason I have a console.

Do you blame developers or people that buy outdated/old engine games?
COD still uses original engine, they have been doing nothing but revisions...they will choke it until it's death (which doesn't seem even anywhere near).
Same for EA, they keep pumping their shit out as long as people keep buying.

Have you ever played an MMO at launch? Because WoW was far more finished and bug free than any I can recall, and I've played quite a few.
I never had any issues with BF2 and I played from day one. Admittedly the maps loaded kind of slow and loading a Black Hawk up with a bunch of engineers to make it invincible was kind of silly but I still enjoyed the game. Sometimes its best to just play and enjoy rather than being worried about how someone else plays, so what they got a couple of unlocks who cares.

You obviously didnt play at launch if that's how you remember it.. I was a Alpha/beta team member as well as a day 1 (hour 1 ) player and it was still a typical MMO launch.. a MESS..
Rift so far has bee alot better as an MMO launch.. hate to say it but they did a better job than Blizzard so far at launching a new MMO.

BF3 is being built from the ground up on a new engine.. Frostbite 3
which even Frostbite 2 is a total upgrade from anything POS COD can do with its engine.
Destructible environments and ballistics as well as being built on the PC as a primary are all major things.
I got flamed major for saying the exact same thing this person from DICE is saying in the console forum.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks they are lazy money grubbing SOBs.
And yet, it was still one of your favourite games...BF2 is one of my favorite games but there were tons of bugs and things wrong with it when it came out. Stuff that didn't get fixed until the patch we had last year.

lol at dice pumping out the same BF game. ooh, so they changed the engine. big whoop, it's still the same shitty gameplay it always was.
I didn't say it was finished, I said it was more finished than previous MMOs and most released after it. Sure it had problems, but it wasn't nearly as broken as those that came before it. I played the beta and played launch day.
Rift might have had a good launch if I could have gotten past the 14 hour queue on launch day.
