Obviously you've never played Chrono Trigger.

I played it

Faxanadu was far superior imho.

You're crazy. Faxanadu was good and all, but there's hardly any comparison.

I remember Phantasy Star 4 was $99 retail.

Haha I remember buying Phantasy Star through Funco Land or whatever. I used their form in GamePro and bought the damn game used, no manual or box, for 75 shipped. Still, it was worth it. I then gave those bastards another 85 later on for Lufia II.

Damn those JRPGs for costing so much back in the day, and damn me for gobbling them up like crazy.

Chrono Trigger has a massive number of endings too. Still looks good on ZSNES

Chrono Trigger was good, but I didn't think it was that much better than any of the other SNES RPGS: FF2, FF3, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire, Illusion of Gaia, just to name a few.

How much where original NES games...for some reason I remember Rampage for NES was $70. This was back in 1988...$70 back then must be like $140 today.

I don't remember what I bought it for when it launched, but I resold it for $80 when the playstation version came out.

Terrible mistake. It just wasn't the same.

I paid $15 for a sealed PS1 version a few years ago, in the Final Fantasy Anthology(?) bundle.

I really should get around to playing it.

It was a great game no doubt, but pales in comparison to the mighty CT

Ogre Battle is even harder to find now (always was, it was a limited edition game)... both to me in their own right are the best games to ever come out for the SNES.

I was just thinking of this game yesterday. It was incredible but I don't think I ever beat it. Every few years I play it on an emulator, but I always quit

See, I thought Crono Trigger was too big of a game. It was fun, but it was hard to see the forest through the trees because of the size of the game.. Same thing with modern day games such as morrowind and others like it.

Faxanadu was the perfect size and was a blast to play.

I have that as well. I just checked some prices on Ebay and rare SNES games have really come down in prices. I guess emulators have killed the market. Sega Saturn games are still going strong and increasing in value.

Too big of a game? For all intensive[sic] purposes it was on the short side. I recall being able to blast through a new game with all the side quests in 12 hours. Still probably my favorite RPG though.

~$20 used, bare cartridge + manual. It might have had the box, I just don't remember.
