Depends. They have the hack for holding down back for menu, volup to screen wake - there's even kernels that turn the htc logo into a home button.
Lifelong Verizon customer, but this phone made me switch over to AT&T (still seeing if AT&T network coverage is decent around me). Wife got a silver one, I have a black one coming in the mail. Ordered them from Costco for $129 each with no activation fees and a free accessory bundle. Not a bad deal.
This will be my first smartphone...so wasn't biased toward any brand. Played with both the S4 and One. Liked the One better even though it doesnt have as many of the features as the S4. Also played with the Nokia Lumia 928. Really wanted to like the phone (mainly because of its sweet camera) but wasnt sold on the WP8 UI, and the boxy design of the phone. Compared to the 928, the One feels soo much better in my hands.
So far, dont mind blinkfeed on wife's phone. But the lack of a menu button bothers me. But I hear there is a hack for that. What other quick hacks should I be looking at right now?
When you did that, did they ship the replacement first? And was it a new unit or a refurb?
yes, they shipped the replacement first. as far as I can tell it was a new unit, but without the retail packaging. I believe it's called the "warranty exchange program," and they waived all fees.
I went back this morning, only 1 rep on the floor at 930am. He took a look at the power button, attempted to press it, and went 'Yep, thats broke.' And went back to get a replacement. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. No charges. At least one person in that store has his head on straight.

Did anyone else get an AT&T OTA update today? I'm not sure what it did (maybe some app/service optimizations), but now I have 1037 MB RAM free when idle versus around 935 MB before.
Also, I think a Google Play update screwed up my location service.

At least there's a fix, but 4.1.10 hasn't showed up for me yet.
4.2.2 leaked yesterday and a couple of custom ROMs already came out with it.
Very tempting, but I really like how my phone is performing right now (stock-rooted) after about two weeks tinkering. It's stable, things are how I want it, and the battery life is excellent. Don't really want to break something that isn't broken. Hopefully I can hold off and wait a month or two before I mess things up
Same here. I'm waiting a bit before going 4.2.2. I use ARHD which has a 4.2.2 ROM now, but still waiting.
So they're now sponsoring NYC subway hotspots. (Though it's all run together -- perhaps some people might think it's some sort of HT Cone.)

Okay, my only question is how much ink do these little suckers hold, especially for my Canon BCI-21 cartridges. A few drops for $1.70 or so just doesn't cut it ... gonna email them and ask. Did you use their toner or inkjet cartridges?
A few Google applications updated and now the battery usage doubled Over 2% per hour idle... I see msm_hsic_host and PowerManagerService eating more than usual in Kernel Wakelocks. In Partial Wakelocks, NlpCollectorWakeLock takes the cake.
Any idea?
Have you thrown them in Greenify? I generally get 2-3% per hour usage but I have push on both Gmail & work email and I have facebook & weather using push as well.
That one needs root. I don't want to unlock the bootloader and root until 4.2.2 is out for it, at the very least.
I disabled some things:
- Google bookmark sync - don't use it, no idea how it got activated
- Android Police app (seems that thing was using quite a bit of stuff...)
Let's see if anything changes.
