Honestly the worst thing about the HTC One is the incredibly long recharge time compared to other phones. Been using one a work issued One the past few days and because of how long it takes to charge I find myself worrying about the battery life more than I should.

I am a fan of the convex back. The phone does get uncomfortably hot after using it for a while though.

1.) My Droid DNA takes an unusually long time to charge as well. I hate that so much that I question if it's the phone itself or the charger I have.

2.) My Droid DNA gets hot as well.

Glad to see HTC keeping their phone builds steady and similar!

How long does it take to recharge? It doesn't seem unreasonable for a large battery like the One's to take at least a couple hours to charge. What's the charger capacity?

I'll test and time it tonight from very low to full charge, but it is noticeably longer than any phone I've had before.

I mean, I use my phone a lot. Considerable amount of emailing, texting, and IMs, and I realize that the phone being awake that much hurts battery life...but like Crono said, its the worst I've had in many, many phones,

Did it improve over time? It looks like a common theme with Android phones that they experience erratic battery behaviors until whatever needs to be done set up. (usually the first 2~3 days)

That seems pretty decent, I haven't waited till a low charge to time the recharge, but around 40-50s it couldn't have been more than 2 hours.

what's your screen on time?

Is there a way to get a number? An empirical example, this morning my wife and I had to sit at a doctors office for about an hour in the waiting room. She played games on my old 920, I was browsing on the One. Both started about 95% - by the end, she was at 86%, I was at 55.

Yes I've seen the slow recharging too - probably related to what I mentioned above (the battery actually discharged while plugged in and navigating)

Not yet. I've only had it since Thursday so maybe there's still time to improve, but that's nearly a full week.

You can check the screen on time in the battery stats in settings.

I'm not seeing it. They have a Screen On bar graph but no hard numbers.

Htc removed it since Sense 4 on the One X. No idea why.

You could install something like GSAM battery monitor to find out (as well as track down what's using the power).

yes, gsam battery monitor is free and will provide screen on time. however to really nail down what's using power, betterbatterystats is..well...better :awe:

I figured I wasn't going to buy a case for my phone, but I found one that's relatively light, isn't too thick, adds some grip to the sides, and is clear so it doesn't uglify the HTC One. Cimo Grip (Frosted Clear) TPU back case is pretty good, though I got mine from a NJ seller on ebay for the same price as Amazon with free shipping to get it quicker(don't have Prime anymore).

Shiny slick plastic =P

Yeah I don't see the point in going with a One if you're gonna make the outside look and feel like an S4.

Are there are rubber cases?

It doesn't look too bad when you are actually holding and using it.
Though the volume buttons are harder to press with the case on...

There are some rubber cases, I'd bet, but I like the clear versus a nondescript plastic or rubber case that looks exactly the same as all the other cases. I did custom paint my Otterbox for my Dell Venue Pro with green/purple colorshift paint, looked pretty cool.

I may end up going back to case-less if the volume controls annoy me enough, though.

I've collected a number of cases already.. though I typically use the felt sock now.

I'm slightly OCD about scratching the speaker/front aluminum part of the phone, so the flap is actually why I ordered the case. Haha

I got a clear case as well when I first got; however, not having a kickstand is a PITA for me. Soooo I ordered one of these:

I use Diztronic's TPU case. Translucent to show off the design, matte for a great feel and grip.
