did dell start using P4 celerons for their laptops????

i just noticed on the 2650C laptops they offer 1.6ghz celerons, with 200mhz ddr ram???? what is up with that, i lookat at the processor specs, and it says 100mhz fsb 32k L1 nad 128K L2 but why would they pair it with ddr ram????? This leads me to beleive that they might be switching the celeron line over to p4 celerons-------this would really suck, the new celerons really suck.

Economics.. Cheaper to buy the P4 celerons than the older ones. Older celerons are probably being phased out anyways.

thats pretty stupid, i wonder what the performance hit is, cause not with instead of a neutered p4, you also have neutered ram feeding it

There's no such thing as a 100Mhz FSB mobile 1.6Ghz Celeron. All mobile Celerons 1.4+Ghz are 400 Mhz FSB, .13 micron, and 256K L2 cache (it's not 128K anymore, check it out yourself).

The L2 used to be the limiting factor, but now I really don't see a difference between the old P4's and the new mobile Celeron.
Is there a difference between the P4 and the new mobile Celeron?

sorry i meant to say its a neutered northwood, and yes there is a difference in performance
