I was rollerblading, and there was a piece of a branch I did not see which tripped me. I landed on both wrists hard. I had protective wrist pads on with sleeves that I wrapped tight around the joint (radius and ulna bones), so they all stayed in place.

But now my left wrist hurts (although not swollen yet), and I have limited range motion: a little bit up and practically non-restricted down. I can't put any weight on the left wrist.

If it doesn't get much better in the morning I'll get an X-ray. Probably will be a soft cast for a while. Damn it.

Yup. Cracking your bone is done quite easily, especially if you landed your weight on it. I've broken my wrist that way.

Broken bones are usually defined by pinpointing pain, swollen, bruised and or deformed. Does that sound like what you are experiencing?

Yeah ATOT isn't going to be able to tell you this one. Even a doctor isn't going to be able to tell you without an X-Ray unless it was a very serous break which doesn't sound likely from what you said.

Could be a scaphoid fracture? That produces swelling, not sure about range of motion though. Where exactly is the swelling? But it's common for people falling onto their wrist, as you seem to have done. I'd get it checked out; there are a few common, but still reasonably serious complications associated with scaphoid fractures.

Sounds like you didn't have much of a fall. I've taken a ton of hard dives from my skateboard and it's not unusual to have lots of soreness and a limited range of motion for a day or two afterwards.

Yep, you need an x-ray to tell for sure.

I broke a finger bone a few years ago, and the x-ray revealed that I had broken it before, but I never knew it.
