Hi.
I have XP 1600+ (Palomino, I believe) that has been overclocked to 1750Mhz and has been working fine for two years. Recently I moved this computer from my office to home. The temp was around 56C and I found yesterday that the cpu usage after running 30 minutes dropped to 0-5% for a program that is supposed to run this computer 100%. Even worse, it won't even post after then or it became locked up after 5 minutes. :brokenheart:
I don't have any experience to fry a cpu before. The voltage was at default (1.75) for Epox 8kha+.
So is this an usual symptom of fried cpu?
There are two options I can think of.
1. Get better heatsink such as Thermalright SLK series or something like that (I'm using Thermaltake volcano 5).
2. Get a new CPU (I'm thinking of replacing with Barton 2500+ and get mobile 2500+ for ASUS board).
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
