My HDD's were completely trashed and even after using a data recovery software, 99.9% of the files were completely trashed and even what appears to be in order was busted.
I know I was infected with W32.Whiter.Trojan, because I read its message, but there are many damages that is not relevant to it and all I can think of is hacking attempt.
For example, one mp3 tracks has been stuck together with another mp3 and it plays like a one big track, other mp3 files have been replaced with different content.

I was connected to many many servers on WinMX overnight on an unprotected computer running Windows Me. Could someone have gained this kind of access to my unshared hard drives?
