Actually catholic is a man made religion based on the very original Christianity. There's lot of traditions that Catholics do that aren't in the Bible. In fact they even added books to the Bible when the last chapter specifically says not to remove, change or add, that what the Bible is, is that way in God's will. But Catholics turned around and changed it anyway. Lot of Catholics don't understand the concept that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we just need to give our lives. No good works or sacrifice will get you in heaven. God gave us the gift, we just have to accept it, and we go. But since Catholic in general is very close to the Bible, then yes, lot of Catholics ARE Christian. To be Christian you only have to have faith that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that's pretty much it. It's very cut and dry. Lot of religions will take this and then over complicate it.
Well stop. Have you apologized for everything that people of your faith have done?Just wondering.
First of all the Catholic Church is the only church that can trace itself back to Christ. You should probably read up on how the Bible was developed. Those books Catholic supposedly added have ALWAYS been in the Christian Old Testament. They were not removed until Martin Luther. And lastly we were preaching the Gospel 1500 years before any other Christian denomination.
Sorta true, but over time man has added lot of their own changes to it, making it a man made religion. Where in the Bible does it say not to eat meat on Good Friday, or to pray to Mary? What about purgatory? Overall, yes Catholics follow mostly the same idea as Christianity but just because someone is catholic and goes to church every Sunday, it does not mean they're a Christian. Denominations such as Baptist, Born Again, pentacost etc are Christian as far as I know. Though, again, just because someone goes to church, it does not make them a Christian. They have to have actually accepted Christ as their savior. After that, the religion they choose does not really matter as far as that goes.
I think this explains better what I was trying to explain:

In 1988, Congress passed and President Ronald Reagan signed legislation which apologized for the internment on behalf of the U.S. government. The legislation said that government actions were based on "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership".[12] The U.S. government eventually disbursed more than $1.6 billion in reparations to Japanese Americans who had been interned and their heirs.[13]
Did Canadians ever apologize for Justin Bieber?
I'm aware that there are many subdivisions to Christianity, but I have never thought and still do not agree that Catholicism is one of them. As I said however, it's irrelevant. My original statement still holds merit, as I've explained at the bottom of the post to which you've replied.
I can't stand religious threads, and I thoroughly regret coming into this one. I'd much rather discuss technology with people. That aside, I don't see how I'd be banned if haven't done anything wrong -- unless by religious troll you'd expect me to say things which would get me banned.
It wasn't the Jews themselves, just a few High Priests who were puppets of Rome.Did the jews ever apologize for having Jesus Christ killed?
Oops.
Yeah, no... the beliefs of Catholics, their traditions, differ from what the Messiah and his disciples taught.Wot? Catholics were the original Christians. Being Catholic DOES automatically make you Christian, unless you want to apply some after-the fact and small-minded and exclusionary nut-fundie definition of a Christian.
The Catholic church was founded by the actual, original disciples of Jesus H. his own damn self. You really can't get more literally Christian than that.
Non nut-job definition:
A sample religious nut job bigot definition:
I feel compelled to reply if someone replies to me, and that aside, I was saying "I disagree, and I don't want to argue about it", not "You're wrong...".You know, I can suddenly decide up means down and down means up. That doesn't mean it's right, and certainly doesn't change the textbook definition of up or down.
If you don't want to 'argue' a point that you're making (which is completely wrong), then shut up about it. Saying "I don't want to argue it" is about as trollish as it gets.
"You're wrong, but I don't want to argue it."
Where's Sandeagle. You two would be hilarious in a thread together.
I'm NOT saying you are a bigot; I"m saying that you are repeating the lines of a bigot. You've been told wrong (see perk's awesome posts on this). You assume wrong about me, I'm no bigot and I'm not against any person regardless of race or religion.
Did the Christians ever apologize for the holocaust?
Just wondering.
Okay, but I still disagree. For the record, I'm not sure I was ever told that Catholics aren't Christians, I've just never believed it. The other divisions of Christianity seem to have a very similar view on most things, but Catholics differ.I'm NOT saying you are a bigot; I"m saying that you are repeating the lines of a bigot. You've been told wrong (see perk's awesome posts on this).
OP is a close-minded racist.
Race != Religion.
This isn't to say that the OP's post was stupid.

Despite being a troll thread, it sure is embarrassing.
Why apologise for giving the Yanks their much deserved comeuppance?
Has the US apologized to the Americans put into internment camps?
Oh, yes it did.
