Why would you not go to prom? Is this one of those anti-social rebellion type things? It isnt overrated. My friends and i had a great time. You'll regret it later if you dont go.

I went. A bit costly (at least I thought it was costly), but it was a fun night. Whether it's worth the dollar value or not is arguable. The difference betweening hanging out with friends and prom was the fact that we were all dressed up. (So as you can guess, I went with a friend)

I went, although drama reallly soured the experience ( i think some people can relate ). Although i would say most of the time it's a fun excuse to go out and party and dress up. Only reason someone would vehemently denounce prom is when they wanna be trendy counterculturish or if they can't get a date. Perhaps both.

I went my sophmore year because a senior asked me, I didn't go junior year because I was an idiot and waited waaaaay too long to ask, but I did go Senior year (I asked like 3 months in advance lol)

/edit I almost forgot. When I didn't go Junior year my parents made fun of me! I told my best friend about it on Monday and he was like "Yeah when I told my mom I wasn't going she laughed at me for like 5 minutes"

I'm glad they did, it made me get my sh!t together for senior year and I had a blast. Plus it's all about the after party man.

I haven't had prom yet, but I'm not planning on going. I have money to pay for everything and such, so that isn't an issue too much. I just see the amount of money spent on prom/after events to be not worth the entertainment that is returned. Prom is kind of overrated and some of my friends have been quite annoying about it (which kind of turned me off to going).

Then talk to her friends, or have your friends talk to her and her friends, and have them see what she thinks about going to the prom, and if you asked her if she'd say yes.

i'm 24 now and don't regret it. thought i might regret it when i made the choice though.

when you graduate college and get a job. once the money starts flowing in and you are about 23 years old - that is when life starts.

oh, and start going to the gym now for mass building, you will not regret it and will thank me in a couple years.

yep its a fun time, I hate people that have to say its "overrated".

also the after party at the shore was awesome.
