I was only able to see half of it at first. I thought it sucked until I got to see the rest and it was ok. It tried to be too smart for it's own good.

4th rate and pretentious. It almost had me going, the atmosphere and the dialog really set the stage for what COULD have been an incredible ending like The Usual Suspects. But it lacked the directorial skill and the screenplay to pull it off. Like most movies that rely on a twist it devolved and fell apart as more and more of the hidden secret was revealed. Only a select few movies are capable of really selling an ending like that. This wasn't one of them.

agreed. better than life of david gale but certainly no usual suspects.

I got it from Netflix over the holidays and liked it a lot. But I've asked 6-8 friends and no one had ever heard of it...

i really liked the movie. hartnett's character was hilarious, liu was hot, and i thought that it was a good twist. sure it wasn't the usual suspects but that movie is in a league of its own.

Saw it on DVD like a month ago. I thought it was a pretty good movie. 8/10 !

Another under the radar Josh Hartnett movie is Hollywood Homocide. I'm not saying he's an excellent actor or anything, but HH was a fantastic movie.

It's in the same category as kiss kiss bang bang - i.e. so full of itself that it didn't work for me. Just because you can mix comedy and noir doesn't mean you should. Especially not if you suck at it like the people who made those two films. But it was better than KKBB by far.

LOL! I love the scene! I like how the camera backs out and you can see how close together girl's ass is to the man's groin area. He must have really...done it! It looked real and I laughed my ass off!

BTW, you can't have a Kansas City Shuffle without a body!
