Did your parents videotape your every movement as an infant/toddler/kid?

I'm too old to have grown up with parents who ran the camcorder constantly. For those who were kept under the eye, how do you feel about it now?

I do wonder how the children of the Gen Y youtube generation recording and loading everything to the internets would feel when they are adults.

My parents got a video camera in the mid 80s, and from then on they taped us opening Christmas presents and occasionally a little league game. I also have a video of me riding my four wheeler all over the property. That was about it.

Edit: Oh yeah, also graduations and school concerts.

My mom didn't have a camcorder. My dad didn't either (divorced). As for regular pictures, not much. I've looked through boxes of old photos and I'm not in most of them. Plenty of my brother though

My Mom and Dad had a video camera but it didn't have sound capability and it had to be developed and played on a projector. We had them transferred to VHS a few decades ago but I don't have any idea where they are now nor do I even own a VHS player.

All told it was probably only a few hours of video.

I have a son of my own and video taped some things but don't really break it out much anymore because he always hams it up for the camera so it's hard to get those candid moments.

No, they couldn't afford one. And thank god too. In its place however are a thousand pictures that thankfully got lost over time.

That sucks. I have a 15 month old, and every since he was a newborn to even now I could swear he's totally aware that he's being recorded and it's as if he's posing/acting for the camera/camcorder every time.

Nope, camcorders were $700 + then so not many had them. Lots of pics though.

It isn't the parents videotaping me that was the problem. It was the scary guy across the street who taped me during my bathtime.

My parents didn't have a camcorder, not even for my HS graduation (where I was speaking..). They do have baby pictures, even an entire a set where I was crying in like every single one, lol.

Fortunately, they never watched any of it. I wouldn't worry so much about the parents videotaping stuff. What I'd worry is if they actually watched it, showed it, edited it and showed stuff at birthday parties etc. THAT would be scary.

Didnt had cam corders when I was young. They did take pics, but who knows where those have gone. I know my parents do not really have any of them. kinda sad.
