EX-floridian here. Couldn't agree more. And it's not the old folks who are the primary offenders it's the redneck hicks.

sad thing is they probably got a HUGE government grant to do this study. In which they of course found major cities. Screw doing something usefull with money lets see who can drive crappy. And I am disapointed. Missouri is scary

An EXCELLENT list. Being from Pennsylvania and currently living in Virginia, I see that most of my neighboring states made the list! So I guess it's true that bad drivers are the ones over your borders. (cause I'm still considering PA as my home. these VA drivers suck too)

I hate you Ohio!
I hate you Maryland!
I hate you New Jersey!

I'm not surprised. Funny how all the yankees come down south and complain that nobody knows how to drive, yet their own states are the top offenders.
I'm in N.C, and the main reason that nobody knows how to drive here anymore is all the yankees that have moved here.

This is what I've learned, after living in both the North and South (sw VA to be exact, which is as southern as anyone else)

Southerners call themselves Southerners, and call northerners Yankees.
Northerners call ourselves Americans.

New Jersey should not be on the list. New Jersey drivers are pretty damn good, although quite rude at times. We get a bad rap because we have morons from NY and PA coming through all the time. Pennsies are some of the worst drivers around. Hey, Triumph, do you know what a turn signal is for? Because about 90% of your "race" doesn't! I should know - I live here right now.

Whatever! I drive the turnpike from Breezewood to Pittsburgh quite often. The only drivers who don't sit in the left lane and don't use turn signals are from OUT OF STATE!

And this report proves that I'm right.

New York and New Jersey shouldn't be on the list. People just drive fast.

Florida is not bad if you stay on the west coast. You take your life into your own hands on the east coast though...

In MASS drivers use their middle fingers to indicate they are turning. They also use their horns to wake up other drivers passed out in their cars at stop lights.

Jersey and Mass I can attest to being on the list nice and high. Living in Connecticut, there are a ton of massholes that pass through. 8 our of 10 times you say to yourself "What and a$$hole!" it's typically a car from MA (no lie). I also have friends in NJ and while they're not terrible themselves, driving down there is a nightmare. People in Jersey take their driving tests in parking lots

People in Chapel Hill, NC like to conserve energy by not using turn signals, but other than that the rest of the state is ok....

It's nearly impossible to speed or drive recklessly due to the cratersized potholes and orange under-construction cones that decorate our streets

This is why the rest of the country views people from those "Southern" states as ignorant hick inbred rednecks. Stupid remarks like this. I seriously hope you were kidding?

Well now thats logic at it finest.
It's also the truth. Most anyone who's actually from here (and we're getting few and far between nowadays) will agree.
I remember a couple years ago we had like a 20" snow. Several wrecker drivers were interviewed, and they all said that the majority of their tows were people from up north who thought they knew how to drive in the snow.
Some chick called the local TV channel WRAL 5 and said she was from Jersey and complained that she was stuck in the snow and was bitching about how nobody in the state could drive, and we didn't know how to deal with snow.
The TV guy, Mark Roberts, basically asked her why she didn't stay off the road like the Highway Patrol asked her and told her that she was part of the problem.

Up north they have more snow removal equipment than a couple of pickup trucks mounted with scraping blades. They can drive in the winter time up there, because they actually scrape and salt the roads

Seriously. I was down in St. Louis (which I didn't expect to be so bad), when we got stuck in the snow/ice (I wasn't driving). We had to get a tow truck to get us out. When I told him we were from Chicago he told me I should be used to this, since we get worse snow than them. I told him yes, that is true, but when it snows in Chicago they have it taken care of in a few hours.

Things are so bad in illinois that we passed a law making it illegal to drive in the passing lane unless you are passing.
