I don't get the correlation between someone who works for a private company and someone who works for the citizens of Wisconsin.
With all due respect to the people talking about getting hired for a job without having a degree or experience, I don't really care to hear about it. How much money a private company pays you, or pays anybody else for that matter, is strictly up to the management of the company. If they want to pay you a million dollars per year, that is perfectly fine with me. On the other hand, when it comes to State workers, the citizens of Wisconsin are picking up the cost of the payroll for State employees and a lot of us taxpayers are not real happy about paying this person.
Hiring an unskilled worker may turn out to be a good thing for a private company, or it may turn out to be a bad thing, but that is the chance the company takes. So if hiring unqualified people works out OK for the company you work for, that is great, I am happy for you and the company you work for. But if it is all the same to you, I would prefer the people working for this State, especially those people in positions of power, to be qualified for the job they hold. It is not my job to hire these people, and I certainly can't fire them, so I have no choice but to depend upon the people in power to appoint someone who is qualified to these positions. When you have a Governor who pulls this kind of crap, it leaves a pretty bad taste in your mouth. How can anyone with any sense at all NOT be against this?
